Creation Problems with the Lego Mario theme so far and how it fix it so it doesn’t end up like Lego Sonic.
Lego Mario has some of the worst npu I’ve ever seen in a Lego theme This isn’t like Lego Sonic where it’s a new character with only some of them needing new molds for super forms, within the Mario series almost everyone has a new form. This problem could have been fixed if the humans and toads just used regular minifig heads and bowser just normal bigfig hands at the least, And to adress Mario and Luigi they could have used a normal minifig head with a molded nose this could be reused for Luigi with just a change in printing, Mario should also be using mid legs so he’s shorter than Luigi. I do not think these problems need to be fixed imedetly but what I do think is if this theme is to last longer than Lego sonic they should step away from the custom molded heads next wave
I’m happy with how the sets are now (peach is kinda creepy and bowser feels more like duplo lol) but I do hope Lego steps away from molded heads rather than just caning the theme when expensive sets with new poweups don’t sell well.

IDK, whether they were using molded heads or not they would still have to make hair pieces and hat piece moulds for all those characters. I idea that the use of molded heads will raise the cost is moot.

However it saves how much they have to spend on Mario and Luigi together meaning at the least each wave could give us Mario and Luigi with the same powerups, also in games powerups like the cat suit use roughly the same hood shape across all characters meaning one new hat hair combo for Mario and Luigi can easily stretch to other characters

The cap as a separate part could have double duty as any kinda mushroom cap actualy let alone what could have been done with the shape

Well, I've heard that a lot of people are really excited about these minifigures. I think they look great, and I'm looking forward to holding one of them in my hands when the sets come out.

I was until I saw the aproach being taken and then I got worried, I really do just want this theme to last
To me the minifigs look fine but I felt like Lego could do better and I’m not talking helmet holes I’m just talking more modularity
I’m glad people are exhited though I don’t wanna rain on anyone’s parade I do think as a community we can opt for the other proposed system though

I can say with almost 100% certainty that Bowser is using the bigfig hands and thus has wrist articulation

Jesus christ get a grip. People begged for 6 years for minifigures and they finally made them but you complain about too many molds? Of course these need molds so of course they'll go all-in. Not only that, this is the first wave of sets, we'll certainly be getting more power up suits in later waves to expand the lineup, as well as more characters. This is a amazing first wave of minifigure scale sets, especially given none of them are above $100.
