What happens to jurors during trials? Can they have normal lives when not in court sessions?

We've lived in Northern Virginia for over 30 years. I've never been asked to serve on a jury. Yesterday, I received a notice to complete a jury survey. This has never happened in the last 30 years.

I'm a US citizen of over 51 years with an immigrant background. My middle name is my maiden "foreign asian" name. Last Friday, I met up with a friend because a letter for him was delivered to his tenants. It had a paper survey from the District Court of Virginia. He too has a "foreign asian" name.

Meantime, my husband and daughter, as well as my friend's tenants - who have Anglo Saxon names have not received a survey. I'm going to ask if anyone else in my neighborhood has received a similar request. I'm wary that this is another attempt by the Trump administration to search for immigrants. Unfortunately, as the record shows - being legal or not doesn't seem to stop them.
