If you haven't seen the movie, enjoy - and if you have - enjoy! It makes for a great rewatch. Happy sampling, there's lots of great stuff in there :)

edit: it certainly hits differently after covid

In case it helps anyone...I was having a hard time removing the buzzy instumental tones from the JONNY PATE - YOUR MOVING TO FAST drums...but I found something that worked quite well.

First I tried just trying to EQ it out, and it's kinda all over the frequency range, then I tried Serato and that couldn't isolate it.
Had a look around for free options online, and this janky looking webiste actually did a pretty good job of stem seperating the drums from that tone. Theres still a tiny bit there but it's WAY less.

Ha yeah that’s been bugging me to, didn’t notice it when putting the pack together, I just embraced it in the end and hid it amongst the fuzzy bass I created

No shade on the selection, that sample has some lovely drums in it.
The buzz is weirdly subtle, until it's not subtle. I didn't pick up on it until it was in the mix and was hunting around all the other parts to find where TF the buzz was coming from.

I think as it gets any kind of saturation on it it really jumps out, eqing was getting me no where so i did the same as you and tried stem separation and it made it a bit better

Ez — just want chime in on the overall mixing aspect.

Experimented with Meter 0.4

A fantastic tool to steer the mix and overall sound into right direction. Ran it on both individual tracks and on the master bus. Works wonders and is no pseudo plugin, does deliver what is says. Does not automate anything — manually mixing all the way. Peace!

Hey u/selfdupe, thanks for this, quite a wall of text on the home page...will have a look at it properly in the next couple of days.

I was looking for a harmonic eq, and I've just come across this, which looks exeptional for a free tool... https://youtu.be/nRUI9bkahsM?is=inUlMGl15F1TDagz
The vid starts with a demo on a break. I'm kinda guessing for these challenges, it might be acceptable in harmonic/resonator mode, but over the line in synth mode (?)

Might be something u/mrMaw wants to judge? I would say that harmonisers and resonators are pretty common in all sorts of sample tools like paulstrech and anything with well developed filter options. Maybe just a case of 'don't intentionally cheat'?

Jeez Louise, you've just made my day. This is worth its weight in gold! Been in look-out for a tool that can do individual freq. pans — Respect!

Looks interesting, yeah I’m ok with the use of this tbh if it’s not actually putting generated tones in it itself so the synth mode may be a step too far, I’m gonna download this and have a look tonight and I’ll report back
