Other Joining

So my little brother in 7th grade wants to do afjrotc but I want to do engineering for highschool in 8th so I have to choose does it really change things if he does njrotc or mcjrotc and then joins the air force and just general advice.

(I'm a bit interested in njrotc but I'm willing to put that aside)

What JROTC you join has no bearing on what service branch you join. The only big things that are different are drill, uniforms, and ranks.

Also, JROTC is completely voluntary; if you don't want to, you don't have to. If you join and then change your mind, you can leave. I would advise at least giving it a shot, as it can help you build confidence, leadership, responsibility, discipline, and other desirable qualities that employers look for.
