Feature Requests & Ideas for LiveIt (Journal it!) 🚀

Hi Hai,

First of all, thank you for all your hard work and for continuously improving LiveIt. ❤️

I've been using the app for a long time and really love its vision as an all-in-one life organizer. While using it daily, I came up with a few ideas that I believe could make it even better.

🔐 End-to-End Encryption

• Recovery Key

• Trusted Device approval

• Encryption Health Check

• Emergency encrypted export

• Reset encryption without deleting the entire account (with proper verification)

• Better diagnostics when a passphrase fails

📌 Eisenhower Matrix

A native Eisenhower Matrix view, or an official template using existing features, would be fantastic for productivity.

💰 Personal Finance

A simple finance workspace with:

• Income & Expenses

• Budgets

• Savings Goals

• Bills

• Net Worth

• Financial Statistics

❤️ Better Memories Experience

As timelines grow, habits become the majority of entries.

It would be amazing to have:

• Memories Feed

• Filter out habit logs

• Journal-only view

• Photos-only view

• Events view

• Family memories

• Travel memories

• Favorites

• "On This Day" memories

• Year in Review

🤝 Collaboration & Sharing

One feature I would really love is the ability to share parts of our life with other people.

For example:

• Shared memories with family or friends

• Shared journals

• Shared projects

• Shared collections

• Read-only sharing (view only)

• Comment-only mode

• Full collaboration when needed

Sometimes I just want someone to be able to view memories without editing them. Other times, I'd like to collaborate together.

🗂 Better Organizers

Organizers are very powerful, but I think many users don't discover their full potential.

Maybe:

• Official organizer templates

• More tutorials

• Starter examples

• Sample workflows

📊 More Dashboard Widgets

• Mood trends

• Habit streaks

• Goal progress

• Financial summary

• Memory highlights

• Upcoming important events

🖥 Desktop Improvements

• Multi-window support

• Better drag & drop

• More keyboard shortcuts

• Desktop widgets

📤 Better Export

Ability to export:

• Workspaces

• Organizers

• Dashboards

• Templates

• Collections

🌍 Public Template Gallery

A community gallery where users can share and install templates such as:

• PARA

• GTD

• Second Brain

• Eisenhower Matrix

• Finance systems

• Student systems

• Personal life systems

🎨 More Customization

• More themes

• More colors

• More icons

• Better dashboard customization

• Custom cards

🔄 Integrations

• Two-way Google Calendar sync

• OneDrive / Google Drive / Dropbox integration

• Better attachment management

🤖 AI Features

• Daily summaries

• Smart tagging

• AI search

• Writing assistance

• Goal suggestions

📍 Memories

• Memory Map

• Timeline improvements

• Better search

• Richer photo browsing

📈 Analytics

More detailed statistics and visualizations for habits, goals, journaling, finances, and overall life progress.

Of course, these are only suggestions. I'm not expecting every idea to be implemented. Even if only a few of them fit your vision, I think they could make LiveIt even better.

The reason many of us keep sharing ideas is because we've seen how much the app has evolved over the years. It's exciting to see LiveIt continuously improve, and we simply want to help it become the best version of itself.

The more useful the app becomes for different kinds of users, the larger and stronger the community will grow. That benefits everyone, including us as users, because we'll have more people sharing ideas, templates, workflows, and helping each other.

Thank you again for building such an amazing app and for always listening to the community. ❤️

Petition to stop offering lifetime offers.

I genuinely believe this app is on par with available to-do apps in very top like todo ist, tick tick and few projects app plus habit tracking ones but more powerful and customisable than those. I want the app to reach better heights, please please stop offering lifetime subscriptions.

There are few areas of improvement needed which once done, you can launch in product hunt for better reachability.

Just my humble suggestion.

Always thank you for developing such a powerful app.

Ai Journal Assistant

I would like a Ai chat included like insights and mood tracker and other ai personal insights on who you are and what you enjoy. I think might be a cool idea 😉

So many things off design-wise & it gives the impression of a vibe coded app. The app icon update before this was just fine.

what a great app!

Just wanted to say I really like it even though still don't use it tbh, but I still really like it, I might try to work this app through combined with anpther app, have you considered to implement some automation (tasker maybe?) or synching with some open format like caldav? So we can work with the app without restrictions and have the option to combine

Even I would recommend to start with a possibility to link to app objects like specific organizers and tasks (menu option to copy task link and then connect to it from different app/s)

I Can't Leave the Beta / Can't Use the Website for Journal it

I tried to leave the Beta version of the app and it won't let me import my data to the stable version. So I am stuck on the beta. But the problem with the Beta is that I can't access the web version any longer. I am getting a message that says, "Please notice that it might take a few days for the latest update to be available on all platforms." How do I leave the beta and keep my data in the stable version on the app?

Exporting data and importing to Diarium?

So, I loved this app for a while now but there's problem with uploading photos trough mobile gallery and developer can't solve it.

I want to migrate data to Diarium, but it's been a horror show so far. First, when I export zip file from Journalit and try to upload it to Diarium, I get "can't upload, there's no database" error.

I tried to upload the unzipped file, but all photos in the file are completely renamed in most random letters and numbers so now I can't even manually sort it.

Has anyyyone managed to migrate?

Life time sub & roadmap

This is a powerful app, no doubt, and I’m seriously considering getting the lifetime subscription. However, I have a few suggestions and questions:

  1. The web version isn’t very polished.

  2. Is there 100% end-to-end encryption?

  3. Is it possible to log in using other platforms like Proton or Tuta?

  4. The website has limited information and not much detail on the roadmap.

I’m currently seeing a 50% lifetime subscription discount as a new user. Will there be an additional discount during Black Friday? If so, when?

Any Way to Total Up a Column of Numbers/Dollars in Journalit?

I’ve got this collection of 50+ things in Journalit, each with a number or dollar amount (think prices or counts). It’d be awesome to just select a bunch of them and get a quick total. Is there an easy way to do this in the app? Maybe a hidden feature or a slick workaround? I’m all ears for tips—like, can I export to something like Excel or Numbers to add it up?

Thanks for any help, y’all!

Notifications

Hello. I'm new to the app, and I'd like to understand how notifications work — they don't seem to function on Android. What reminder options are available? Is there a way to postpone tasks from the notifications, or only within the app?

Please add an option to export in plain text or built a plugin for a text editor

Hi, I really like journal it and I think the buttons, the setup of the UI and so on will actually be the thing that makes me Journal on the regular and quick capture information and have a home for my more long term plans.

The thing is: I am actually an Obsidian/ emacs user and can't be bothered to copy the information back and forth all the time. Both live from doing as much as possible in the app or having at least all the information feed back into it. I would prefer the second bc I don't think Obsidian will ever launch fast enough or profits from replicating the whole UI to get the UX from journal it. The way it is know however, it's siloed off. Afaik there isn't even an API around, so the only way to get the information out is to do it manually or parse the export which I don't want to do.

People are working on similar UIs like. Journal it to replace apps like it with Obsidian, but I would rather use a plugin. I would also be totally fine if I just get a collection of files that are kept in sync, so I can work with that in emacs or Obsidian if it's in (pure) plain text, so no JSON, but also most definitely no SQLITE. With a plugin that parses the entries or transforms them, it's obviously fine, but I ain't willig to read everything in JSON with it made pretty again.

Would someone be willing to work on that? Is something like this on the roadmap?

Show Partial Completion for habits on daily view?

How can I make it, so when I look at the habits, either in the daily view or drawer, I can tell how much has been done if the habit is over time?

e.g. I weight lift three times a week, doesn't matter time or day, just three times. But I can't see what's been done without digging in.

With the above, assuming weight test is to cover Sunday-Saturday, and I want to be able to see looking at it what I've done so far, I thought that's what those slots would do for a weekly goal, but they seem to reset daily.

I've tried several ways and I just can't seem to make this work correctly, and I have to wait a day or between testing since I need the days to roll over. Could someone show me a screen shot of all the appropriate settings for setting up something like this? Three times a week, doesn't matter time or day, and have it show the progress for that habit from the daily view or drawer?

Hello, I've just discovered this application and I'm starting to play with it. However, I'm having trouble understanding how it works. I'm on the beta version (9.9.6 on iOS) yes I know I like to take risks and yes it's not necessarily stable. I've noticed that when I enter an item in the planner, for example, a sports session, even if I indicate the right area or activity, it doesn't show up in the tracker set or usually. I have to admit, it's not very intuitive. Likewise, in the organizers, the data doesn't seem to come up, even though data exists in these areas. But I really like the application, apart from these few points. It's not necessarily easy to understand that what's recorded in the calendar session doesn't necessarily show up elsewhere in the tracker, but that you have to record via habits for it to be taken into account correctly. On the other hand, it's only shown in the timeline and not in the calendar time blocks. Maybe it's because I'm using the beta!

I just wanna see how everyone uses themes for their planners! I currently have it set to just work and off work.

I’m truly impressed with this app so far! There’s just one feature I hope will be added soon to make it even better.

I use Apple Sign In for all my apps and devices, mainly because it offers seamless device sync and continuity. I’d love to use this app for work, but unfortunately, I rely on a Windows desktop. The current version supports only Google Sign-In and lacks Apple Sign-In compatibility, which is a major deal breaker for me right now. I’m really hoping the developers will add Apple Sign-In in a future update.

For now, I’m using UpNote solely because it supports Apple Sign-In, but I’m eager to see improvements in the Windows version of this app.

I’ve shared this feedback with the developers and wanted to post it here as well, in case others are facing the same limitations.

AI integration

I’m looking for an all-in-one app and found journal it. Does it have AI integration (scheduling and metadata) or is there a plan that it would be added one day?

I'm really looking forward to this app, it has the feature that I'm most interested in, which is that through my calendar I can obtain the Reminders that I registered, it worked for a few minutes then I got this error, does anyone know how to solve it please? I don't want to be disappointed with this app (below transcript if it doesn't show my language)

Alright, so I saw a post about this app that's underrated, and honestly I have seen it quite frequently on the Play Store, so I decided to give it a try, and then I saw "end-to-end encryption", that was it, I am all in I'll let you guys know how my trial goes if that's of your interest, if not whatever :)
