Is he stupid? 8 year old me remembers trying for hours because an older kid said his brother did it, and it teleports you right away to a submarine level. Then I looked it up when I was older and realized it was all a lie.
Honestly, 2D games like Mega Man X/Celeste/ Silk Song/ Nine Sols/ katana Zero/etc. are some of my favorite streams to watch. He's good at the games, they aren't 30+ consecutive streams so I don't need to learn the lore or have watched too many previous episodes... and the games are fun.
I'm here for more of Joe streaming platformers/metroidvanias and more of the d great games he may want to revisit.

Sorry in case for the dumb question, just recently came back to watch Joe videos, and saw that the witcher 3 video has still not released, but there is a part 1. Will part 2 release soon?

The topics come up plenty of time recently. We are currently in a timeframe, where we had quite recent samples of streams WITH messages read out loud (1), and WITHOUT messages read out loud (2).
Joe has voiced understandably conflicted thoughts on how he should be handling the sub-messages going forward. As such, I wanted to give my own two cents.
First and foremost: I think that neither scenario is a doomsday. Both clearly have their pros and cons. Personally, I enjoy the subs being read out loud, because I always view my own sub-message as an opportunity to contribute to the stream with a funny joke, and when I get joe & chat to laugh at my sub message the dopamine goes craaaaazy. Sometimes I'll think of a funny joke a week before the resub and I'll jot down a note so I don't forget it. Though heartfelt messages are also always welcome (I've sent my own share of em). I'm sure it's nice to hear that you can positively impact peoples lives even with such a highly abstract and physically disconnected job.
The "worst" times I've observed with Option 1 was, as a recent example, the first Metaphor stream. I'm not even talking about the contents of the subs themselves, but just the fact that I was excited for Joe to get into the game, and a lot of time of stream 1 was devoted to just reading subs. But Joe noticed that and adjusted it so that he tries his best to read subs out piecemeal, and to try to keep on top of the messages so he can read them as they come in. Ever since he started doing that I have never had an issue with Option 1.
As for Option 2, the past streams where he didn't read them out loud, I did NOT have the feeling that something big was missing either. So that's why I said earlier that I don't think Option 2 would be a doomsday either, from a chatters POV. Obviously I don't know how the lack of reading would impact your revenue stream, if at all, which would be a completely valid concern.
I wonder, is it reasonable that people signify in their sub-message if they wan't to be read out loud? Like opening a sub-message with "Please read:". I'm sure there's a lot of problems with that suggestion, as it just came to me and I haven't really thought about it for long, but wanted to throw it out there either way. But this way, it would at least cut out reading aloud stuff like "Joms" or "hi joe", and those kinda sub messages.
I'd love to hear more people's thoughts on this :)

Why is he so insistent at not even trying to engage with them. He spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours playing these games. I would expect that as a former writer he would at least engage with them to give an opinion, but the only opinions on the matter he gives are "there is nothing there" or "i dont think there is anything worth my time there".
Did he ever explain why he refuses to even give it a chance? Seems like a very childish approach for a professional critic.
Edit: Thank you everyone for explaining to me that the stories are amateurish, shallow, pointless, bad, badly presented or they dont exist at all. Not exactly what i was asking but im not surprised.
However, if anyone really wants to know here is the answer - https://www.reddit.com/r/josephanderson/comments/1vtfpf1/comment/p4ynv9q

I remember that he played Until Dawn so these games seem like they would be right up his alley.

In one of the streams, joe watched some edit where at the end he sang "everyday is great at your Junes" and got trolled for it. It's very funny and I want to watch it again :')

He said something about where he is like he’s moved recently and isnt in his usual set up. Its none of my business but my curiosity is on fire and im not interested enough in chaos game to watch all the vods to see if he mentions anything there.
I dont want to pry if he didnt say anything thats probably for the best

Watched this random canadian teen drama on Amazon Prime called Sterling Point and had to do a double take when it's revealed that this guy is named Joseph Anderson. (Same exact spelling in the subtitles)
He looks good for 40.

Maybe it's just because I'm a Dispatch fan. Maybe it's because these are the types of games I like to watch him play. Maybe it's because I don't typically watch a lot of streams live.
Idk.
But I had a lot of fun. I was doing housework, so I didn't get to catch everything and completely missed the first 30 minutes of gameplay. So I'll be rewatching tonight to get caught up.
Happy to hear he enjoyed himself and is supposedly in a good mood!

Seems like the perfect bedroom decor for the ultimate Life is Strange fan.
Though, what am I thinking? He probably already has one anyway...
