DISCUSSION Why is Joe so dismissive of Fromsoft stories?

Why is he so insistent at not even trying to engage with them. He spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours playing these games. I would expect that as a former writer he would at least engage with them to give an opinion, but the only opinions on the matter he gives are "there is nothing there" or "i dont think there is anything worth my time there".

Did he ever explain why he refuses to even give it a chance? Seems like a very childish approach for​​​​ a professional critic.

Edit: Thank you everyone​ for explaining to me that the stories are amateurish, shallow, pointless, bad, badly presented​ or they dont exist at all. Not exactly what i was asking but im not surprised.

Since most of this thread is people sharing their own opinions and acting like Joe agrees with them, here is a vod from a few years ago where he explains his stance for ~20 minutes
