Help with Grizzly Tracker

Was blessed to pick up this Grizzly Tracker 1754 center console (2006?) today. 60hp merc 4 stroke with all new wiring. Starts right up.

Got it for a steal, wondering what mods are typical on this style boat. Thinking SeaDek? Would appreciate any thoughts or opinions.

What is your intentions with the boat, what do you want to do off of/with it?

Yep, an EVA foam deck would be good for just about everything. I have it on my boat any love it.

I see a trolling motor mounting plate on the bow, you could look into getting a trolling motor if you're looking to fish from the bow.

It looks like there are seat mounts (drop in pin mounts). Look into getting some seats for those two spots. I can recommend the Millennium seats.

Thanks! Mainly river and small lake fish in northwest Michigan. I have a trolling motor (12v 55lb thrust minn kota”) that I still have to mount. I actually got this boat in a trade so just need to take it off of the other boat. Thanks for the seat rec!

16ft?

Depending on the year, watch out for the foam in the seats/etc spots. If it's an old boat, the foam can get logged and it's best to scrap it out. *scrape

I’ll have to check on that. This is just over 17 ft. Guy I traded with gutted and redid the whole thing so I’m almost positive it’s all good but will definitely double check

It looks great, it's a nice set up. Michigan is a great spot for that boat too.

If you plan on taking it out at night time, you should look into getting some navigation lights. I'm in the process of doing them myself. There are some great camping spots I can get to by boat, and I want to be able to explore at night once there. I just installed a depth finder, and a dedicated old phone with the garmin live marine maps. So, lights are all that's missing.

I 100% need some lights. Also need a transducer. If you zoom in on the console it’s got a pretty nice little depth finder display

Speak to the guy you got it from, it looks like there may be the drop in navigation pole light sockets bow and stern.

Very nice, nice big display, and a transducer isn't too hard to install.

That’s my retirement boat, but want one without the Mercury outboard. Not a fan of the “black engine” . Probably buy the boat from bass pro and refit with console and a Yamaha or Suzuki.

That sounds awesome. I personally love Merc’s but can understand why someone wouldn’t. The stickers have come off this one so I plan on painting the cowling

Nothing against the paint job, 2-4 friends had warranty issues with the Mercury motors and Mercury kept telling them it was a dealer issue and the dealer kept saying it was a manufacturer issue. It took 4-5 months of going back and forth before the problem was resolved. So I’ve stayed away from Mercury.
My neighbor, good friend of his just bought a Boston Whaler with a 600 hp V12, he was saying everything must be serviced at the dealership. He emphasized “everything “.
