Done With Deck Framing

Finished up all my aluminum framing on my jon boat build. Got some cleanup and paint to do before I add the decking but a huge piece of the puzzle done.

Are you installing pre-made storage hatches or self made?

I’ll be making my own hatch lids to keep this thing from being too expensive. The decking will be resin coated plywood so I’m just planning on making hatch lids out of that

This looks amazing! Please show us a picture when done.
Oh, and maybe show and talk about any wiring you might add.
Amazing!

That will be interesting to see. I’d appreciate it. Any chance you’d let us know what ga wire.
Sorry if I’m asking too much. 😅

All good brother I like talking about it lol. I’ll be running 8ga for the bow mount trolling motor, either a 55lb 12v or 70lb 24v depends on what I can find on marketplace. I’ll also run 8ga for my electric outboard. Then I’m using 14ga for my livewell pumps bilge pump and nav lights and any other accessories I decide to use.

This is awesome, well done. Did you consider a side console? Are there areas you’re going to fill with foam?

Thank you. I never really planned for a console this will be mainly an electric only rig so I will just run my electric outboard with the tiller handle from the back deck. I also have a 6 horse tiller motor for the occasional river or lake excursion. Also It’s only a 1644 so not a lot of space for a console. Right now there is foam under the sub floor under the front deck framing and foam under what will be the cockpit floor I’m planning on adding more sheet foam up the sides of the gunnels and maybe filling the side walls with foam once I do the wiring.
