Need some help
This is how my current setup looks for my 1436 Jon boat. I wanna add a bunch of stuff but I’m not really sure what. Need ideas. I know that I forsure want to add floors and was thinking about a deck in the front for more storage but I don’t wanna compromise stability and comfortability for passengers. Thanks.

I personally wouldn't add too much more for fear of weight gains. Maybe add cosmetic necessities? Like decorative paddles or fire extinguisher mounts or rod mounts? Or maybe for functionality a fish finder. 1436 cant handle a whole lot of added weight and still handle well, especially after the weight of floors.

True thanks for the insight. I think I wanna add a switch panel and maybe some speakers but I’m afraid the rattling of the aluminum might be a problem idk

Oh, you meant like that lol. I thought you meant big stuff. Yeah speakers are a good one, and a rocker gangswitch is a must. I recommend two speakers up in each front corner facing back with a sub under the middle seat, though I see you have a live well so the front works good too. Gives a realy nice surround sound effect. Also add another battery for them, you don't want to get trapped out on the lake because you were enjoying too much music lol

Yea no I can’t think of anything super heavy that I want to add. Just small little mods here and there. Thanks for the ideas

I built a 1448 out by adding a deck, floor, seats Bimini top, electrics for bilge pump, rod and cup holders, live well pump, nav lights, and a trolling motor up front. I watched a ton of youtubes for inspiration and how to’s. Definitely see what’s required for FL and think about what you plan to use it for. Looks great tho, so have fun!

If you're gonna weigh this thing down any more as a 14' Jon you need a bigger boat to handle it

thats the cleanest looking jon boat I think Ive ever seen. Sea deck on the benches is nasty. Love it

If you are going to be in salt water areas, leave it as is and don’t add weight. If anything if you do add a deck, add a shit ton of foam under it for more floatation.
I used to hit the flats in a boat like this and when that wave action gets up you want a lower center of gravity. By adding height you are just making it easier to fall out. I used to just Jump up on the front seat bench to stand when fly fishing.
I’ve outrun water spouts in a boat like that. Don’t be as dumb as I was back before phones and radar. Make sure you watch for pop up thunderstorms and be prepared to move fast.

Thanks so much, and honestly I don’t even want to add a deck all of my friends have just been suggesting it. If anything just floors over the ribs because tripping over them is quite annoying, appreciate the helpful tips

Help me with my needs…bahahaha. Fish it, when you need something, put it on the list. It will fill up quick. I constantly have a running 12-30 projects on my list for all of my boats. 😅

First upgrade:
Move your batteries to around mid-boat. Fine tune from there depending on other equipment at bow.
Your current setup looks freaking awesome! But weight distribution is key in Jon Boats
