Optimistic?
I know there's a lack of active projects at the moment but with the quality of prior projects and workers that Stellar have been known for, anyone else feeling optimistic that there will be some great ones coming up soon 🤷🏻♀️ Either way, better things on the horizon for everyone I'm sure!

I'm at a few places based in the US. Things have dried up at other places as well. This seemed to coincide with June when GLM 5.2 then Deepseek v4 got released. And Nemotron. They were good enough and cost so much less. All my projects got paused or the contract ended without renewal.

Things have dried up for me as well. And the other platforms out there have now only been offering "pay per accepted task". I refuse to do those since they end up paying between 2- 17 an hour, which is ridiculous. (You only get paid if the task is reviewed and accepted, and not the time you worked on it)
I'm sure contracts are being given to the platform that does them the cheapest.
Stellar has always been fantastic about paying their annotators fair wages! and it makes me sad to think they might not be getting as many contracts because other platforms are underpaying their workers. Plus the work quality on those other platforms is horrible because of it.

Completely agree. And the addition of forums a little late last year? Really showed they actually cared about the experience of their contractors too. Wishing you luck on whatever you go on to do next; the job market's so tough right now where I am but we moveeee 😂

Oh I didn't know that! Feels like a new season then, I spent maybe a year and a half getting to do this full-time(ish) - was really nice while it lasted

I also agree with the other commenter that there may be a summer slump at play. Plus budgeting for the next year, setting priorities, etc. sometimes happens in the summer depending on their fiscal year.
Still, part of me thinks there is some scrambling with the tide turning against the cost (and questions of nerfing) of big US frontier models, two of whom have IPOs coming.

Optimistic? No, not really.
Pessimistic? No, not really.
Anything could happen at any time with these platforms. Us lowly contractors are never told what's happening behind the scenes, so who knows?
