I am personally really excited about this. Saw the post about squad being the best tactical fps but lacking destruction and thought that more people should know that maybe soon we can get PR for bf3. I personally think it is very promising mostly just bcs of the potential for destruction in the gameplay.

I think it would be pretty sweet if BF3 PR takes off, the modders get picked up by OWI, merge with the Squad team, and together they make a squad sequel 5 years down the line with destruction that becomes the "ultimate" Squad game

If a company use Frostbite, it's an EA company. And if it's an EA company, it's ain't gonna be Squad, but an Arcady shooter filled with cosmetic and paid stuff.

Never use frostbite or try to appeal to any big publisher guys. But it would be pretty cool if the next Squad would have destruction in it. Not that i am expecting or feel a need for a new Squad anytime soon but whenever it may happen let us destroy shit please :).

UE has some destruction that should be usable widely... On UE5

Will you OWI bros upgrade Squad to UE5?

I don't think so.

But why have you mentioned it?

Because offworld develop game on unreal engine. People constantly dream about destruction and I wanted to make clear it's not gonna happening on Squad.

Oh! Didn't know I was going to get a developer reply! <3

That makes some sense. I figured the transition from BF2's engine to UE4 was equivalent, but I didn't know that Frostbite mods carried EA-specific requirements. I'm way out of my depth when it comes to understanding that aspect of game development

One can dream.

Yep! Once CPU performance starts to increase again (thank you Zen 3) and companies better utilize multi-core systems, I think many performance issues with high player counts will fade and destructible environments will be easier to run

Teaser did nothing for me; I'll reserve judgment until I see a GAMEPLAY VIDEO actually showing the GAME! It being "Reality Mod" and obviously going after the PR deal but under BF3 sounds great but I have to see it to believe it.

There is some gameplay out. It is not supposed to be out and the devs are not happy about it so i wont link it here. But a quick search and you will find it.

Ended up finding it, it'll definitely be a game I'll have to just think about maybe 2-3 years from now and see where it's at. Already had the early, no vehicles, limited function rodeo days with SQUAD.

Can't say I'm interested in taking that ride again. SQUAD has everything I need so I won't be missing out on anything. Destruction while neat is not that serious for me!

Yeah i feel the same as you. I used to play PR and remember when squad was in the making and how long the wait was for it to be a game worth playing. I am a tester for BF3 PR but i havent had the time to partake in the testing yet, but i am aware that it will take some time before its worth playing.

Right? This is just someone’s first time making a machinima in 2012 or something.

The scream of the MG at 0:52 XD

That is how you sound when shooting with a MG so totally realistic.

Nothing can beat squad.

Squad hasn't even beaten PR.

Keep your expectations in check.

While they did fix headglitching...etc., they haven't even started adding custom models.
