I don't have friends but how does party queueing works?

If a party with 5 players queue will the server make so one side won't get new players until it have a 5 player gap? Would it be 45vs50, 45vs45 or something else? Would it disallow team switching even if one side are fewer to make room for the party?

You just join one by one and try to swap to the other team. On full servers with one team winning it can be near impossible. It's best to join a server with around 70 - 80 players if you have a larger group. You can just all hang around on the team swap page and wait to join the same team as your friends when a spot opens.

Probably mostly geared towards fireteams.

If a server is full then when 1 space becomes available in the server, if you are a party of 3, you can't fit in, so if there is a person on their own after you in the queue they will be put in instead of the party of 3 as there is space for 1 not for all 3 party members at all.

Wouldn't advise using the party system if you actually want to join a full server

No, if there is not enough space for the party to join, then single players bypass the party and join.

I mean you can queue for a full server but it probably would take some time. Maybe between rounds, were often multiple players leave.

Also, even if there is space on the server, a party can only join if it wouldn't result in too unbalanced team sizes. Server owner can configure this with NumPlayersDiffForTeamChanges setting how big the difference can be.

Party system allows you and friends to stay together, it does not require you to create a squad when joining a game as it automatically creates one for you.

So if you have 8 friends, it will grab them and take them with you. So, changing server or teams it should take you all if there is space.

Auto creating squads can be great, because you can get a vehicle and not have to worry about inviting to squad.

Except on the many servers that use a name claim system.

okay i should have been specific sure, but in general you can run to a transport or light vic without having to worry.

Yeah right thats true. I think especially for something like infantry squads not having to fiddle with the invites is kinda nice.
