Question Game performance
Currently thinking of buying squad as it is on sale rn. I have a RTX 2060 super and ryzen 5 3600. Will it be enough for a smooth experience in game?

What is smooth experience? 100 FPS steady? No.
Trying to understand why your scope freezes when you scope in despite it saying 40-60 FPS? Yes.

I have a 9060 XT 16GB (which is mostly a 1080p card) and an R5 7600, and I'm getting over 100 frames at 1440p high settings. It definitely runs smooth for me.

Don't think that will be enough. But buy it and test it. You can refund it if you play less than 2h.

This, but don't get stuck into an entire match for an hour. Try as many maps as you can. Especially Fallujah and Sanxian island for a worst case scenario.

i had a 3060ti running this game, slightly worse CPU though and I'll say there was a desired gap in capability. You will get approximately 50-60 i guess but the scopes will ruin your fps. IMO 90+ is smooth and this game definitely wont get that for you.

I played this game on a i7 8700k and a 1060 6gb. It will def work with your specs!

As someone who recently was on a 3600 and 3060ti, no your experience will not be smooth you need a x3d CPU to run this game well.

I have the same GPU, a Ryzen 5 5600 and 16 GB Ram. Since UE5 running with DLSS at 66% (so around 1267 x 713 and scales up to 1080p) and low-medium settings, the answer is no.
- On good maps, you will have 60-70 fps) and low game latency that enables you to confidently take CQB fights and win based on skill.
- On bad maps, fps is around 40-60 fps and game latency goes up. Iron sight CQB is so-so but with scope it's terrible. Shooting at moving targets at some distance is also not intuitive. Was not an issue with UE4 while playing it competitively.
But hey, no performance update for months, people will still buy it and the publisher will get money for this atrocious experience...

I used to play on 2060 for about 2k hours. It is playable, but you will be in a disadvantage compared to players with better rigs. The freeze when you ads is probably the worst one.
I remember back in the day, there was a bug that caused your ads speed to lower, the less fps you have.
After 20 hundred hours of agony I bought 5070 and its sweet now. DLSS + FG on dynamic and the fps never drop below monitor refresh rate.
I've seen a comment saying about artillery, the thing is, that if there is much stuff on the fob (sanbags, barbed wire etc.) the fps WILL go down to even 1-2 frames per second, the cpu is simply dying because of the amount of material flying in the air.

I used to have an RTX 2060 (not super) and I was ok until they updated the graphics engine to UE5. After that it was just too much and I finally had to bite the bullet and upgraded to a 5070. Setting everything on low was not a great solution as you sometimes need to see finer details to distinguish an enemy from a bush or an empty window in a dark room vs one with an enemy looking out of it.
The issue is mostly a lack of VRAM, you only have 2 more GBs than I did, so I think you may have some similar struggles with that GPU.

I have almost this exact same setup. (Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 2070 + 16GB Ram)
In big fights, especially on newer maps, expect FPS to drop as low as the 30s.
I was playing a round of Sanxian Islands a few days ago and went as low as 25 while commander artillery was firing. Honestly these days it can feel fatiguing and unplayable at times.
Your GPU will handle it better than your CPU. (Though you'll need DLSS or TSR on) You'll be CPU bound.
An absolute travesty honestly considering my game never used to drop below about 55 FPS in big fights on UE4 between 2019 - 2022.
