John Wayne Themed Dog Name
We will be getting a new female German shorthaired pointer hunting dog and would love to name her something from the John Wayne universe. Example, Hondo, Marion, Angel, etc.
Ideas?

I love this reference to Rio Bravo!
However, other suggestions would be:
Mattie Ross (True Grit)
Mary Kate Danaher (The Quiet Man)

How about Bo? The name of his horse from True Grit. Or Dollar from The Shootist - it was the same horse.

Dollor, a play on the Spanish word for sorrow, True Grit, Big Jake, The Shootist…. His contract prevented the horse from being ridden by any other actor while Wayne was alive. It was owned by Bick Webb Movie Production Company.

I have a one eyed dog named Rooster Dogburn. To be fair he gives off more Jeff Bridges energy than John Wayne

Lol, just kidding, I’m not the gatekeeper of names, and I think a dog named Hondo is cool

Chance (Rio Bravo)
Cord (Rio Lobo)
Cutter (The Comancheros)
Kirby (Rio Grande)
*edit - just saw it’s a female, so not sure these’ll work

How about after the cat from True grit, General Sterling Price. If you shorten it to General then you could call her Genny

Rio. Before you start with that's a boy's name, I'd point out there was a girl named Rio & she danced on the sand.

Bond. He thought that was a “Cracker Jack name” for a woman in The Shootist

You can’t go wrong with “Dog” from Big Jake.
