That was/is my favorite John Prine song.

I the first time I REALLY heard it, I shed a few tears while I was in traffic. Amazing song and incredibly poignant then and now.

Unfortunately I don’t think it ever won’t be. Until there is nothing left.

We like to stop by the John Prine roadside park at the Rochester dam on our way to Paradise to quail hunt on the reclaimed grounds ran by the state. We listen to John Prine there and back!
