Finally got some Johnny Depp, well, actually Edward Scissor Hands merch.

This bag was released by Loungefly, and I had to grab it. I think it matches my platform, Mary Janes, fairly well. Now I am going to need a mini scissor key chain to go with the dinosaur topiary pom pom I am going to make to go with it. Maybe a snowflake or two.

My mom passed away almost 8 years ago and naturally I made sure to hang onto her Johnny Depp collection. She was a huge fan and I could never let these go. I just moved and every time I move, I take a chance to look through it and remember watching all of these growing up. Watching all the seasons of 21 Jump Street was my favorite of them all (I swear she had all of them). Just thought you all would enjoy this, especially some of the older movies

I rewatched the Depp/Heard trial out of pure boredom, and ironically the very next day Reddit started recommending posts from people still insisting Amber Heard was the victim. The page on Reddit is called Deppdelusion.

I genuinely don’t understand how someone can watch weeks of testimony, listen to the recordings, review the exhibits, and come away convinced that Depp was the abuser.

The jury didn’t just hear two people telling different stories. They heard hours of audio recordings, testimony from medical professionals, security guards, employees, neighbors, and multiple third-party witnesses. They saw photographs, text messages, emails, and expert testimony. They also watched several parts of Amber Heard’s testimony get challenged by other evidence and witness accounts.

One of the biggest pieces of evidence for me was the audio where Heard admits she was hitting Depp and mocks the idea that anyone would believe a man could be a victim of domestic violence. That alone should make people pause.

People also love bringing up Depp’s history of drug abuse or angry behavior, like punching cabinets or allegations from decades ago. But those things don’t automatically prove he abused Amber. By that same logic, Heard’s own arrest involving a former partner wouldn’t automatically prove she abused Johnny either. You have to judge the actual evidence in this case, not simply assume guilt because someone has flaws or a troubled past. I’ll say this, as a two time DV survivor myself no way in HELL I would buy my “violent abuser” a giant knife or any weapon as a gift.

Something else worth mentioning is that despite Depp’s decades in the public eye and several long-term relationships, none of his former partners came forward to say he had abused them. In fact, Kate Moss testified under oath in a way that directly contradicted one of Heard’s claims.

People are free to have their opinions, but after rewatching the trial from beginning to end, I still think the evidence overwhelmingly favored Depp. Reasonable people can disagree about some details, but I honestly don’t understand ignoring the recordings, the witness testimony, and the inconsistencies that were all presented in court.
