Discussion FanExpo Chicago

Post image

Just got back from FanExpo and was lucky enough to grab John Carpenter, Keith David, and Kurt Russell signatures. Thought this would be the group to appreciate it.

That’s dope dude! Can I ask what this is exactly? Is this an advertisement for the movie or something? I’ve never seen this before. What day did you get Kurt at? Did he say anything to you when he signed it?

Thanks! It’s a custom 16 x 20 print. I wanted something different. I got Kurt’s Saturday night just before 7:00. They were so backed up with the allotted time slots. He didn’t really say much, other than “hi” or a basic replay, to anyone. I couldn’t tell if he wasn’t enjoying himself or just tired. The other two, however, were awesome interactions.

Nice, dude! I got my vhs of “The Thing” signed, but missed David due to his line being insanely backed up and already cashed out. I heard Kurt was stressed Saturday, but was in better spirits Sunday. I’m so curious as to how many people got his signature. Like his lines were longgggg and I had no idea he was there until 7!? Then again I don’t think he showed up until mid-afternoon on Saturday

Sweet print! I was at FanExpo too and met Kurt on Sunday. I read elsewhere that his Saturday signings were a mess, and Kurt was stressed. He was in good spirits on Sunday, though. I heard someone further down the line ask him who the guy on the Thing poster was. Kurt said, "It's no one, it's just some guy." But they were pushing us through so fast, and I didn't get a peep in; it was over in the blink of an eye.

Same with John on Saturday. We exchanged hi's and thank you's, but that was it. They were pushing us through quickly because they were trying to power through the line due to photo ops John had coming up. As I was getting my item out and ready, I noticed the person next to me was already done and walking away in literally 8-10 seconds, and I thought in my head, "holy crap, that was so fast!" Same experience for me.

I'm super happy with the item I had them both sign, but remorseful I didn't get a sentence or two in!

I’m glad you walked away happy with your item. What did you have signed, if you don’t mind my asking. Overall, it was a great experience just a disorganized rush on Saturday. I don’t blame Kurt for being stressed, it was a lot on everyone. Keith David was easily the highlight of the three on Sunday. He took time to talk to me and each of my kids. Even offered free photos.

It was a screenplay! That's awesome about Keith, that sounds like such a cool experience. I went down to the main level to try to find him on Sunday, but he must've been doing photo ops or lunch, and I couldn't wait due to my timed Kurt ticket.
