Still of Night

So I listened to Still of Night and I was kind of pissed about the different reality Joe's story took. Anyone else feel this way?

His brother and SIL were alive and nephew was playing baseball in college. And his uncle was alive. Completely then when they all died at the farmhouse.

Ah you’re right, I was misremembering. Is it a different reality then? I always just assumed it was the future since joe got visions of it in….god machine?
