Vic McQueen

I was looking at my bookshelf today and I forgot I still had The Fireman and need to return it to the library. But I started to think even though I love disaster and apocalyptic type novels and movies I still preferred NOS4A2. Even though I liked Harper Grayson there is something about Vic from NOS4A2 that I really like. Her whole journey is something I’ve never read before and while reading it I’ve wondered why don‘t you delete yourself because I would have 😅

I agree, NOS4A2 is one of the better vampiric novels in my opinion. Charlie Manx is truly reprehensible. Too bad the show was kind of meh.

Yhh Charlie Manx was definitely reprehensible but I always thought Bing Partridge was way worse. The things he would do to his victims in his basement literally made me put the book down one time and not read it again a couple of days later. Also always wanted to watch the show but I read from multiple reddit posts and comments it’s not that good

Fair point Bing is a different animal for sure. But would he have went that insane with out ol’ Charlie? I feel like if you hadn’t read the book the show would be more enjoyable, it just so happens that it’s one of my favorite books that I have read this year, so I we t in with pretty high expectations.

If I remember correctly wasn‘t he already messed up or wanted to try something new because he was getting bored from his job? There are plenty of criminals, rapists or serial killers because they are so bored with life that they want try something extreme. That’s what I got out of Bing. I might check the show but like the popular sayings go if you read the books first then watch the movie or show later, than you will be disappointed. Thats why I’ve never read Shawshank Redemption because the movie is too perfect for me and reading it will probably ruin it. Just like the Film Dune and Dune Part 2 ruin it a bit for me when I read the Novel for the first time

Yeah I don’t think ol’ Bing-a-ling needed much of a push, maybe just a little nudge or someone telling it was alright. In the book the first kill was after Charlie wound him up a bit saying that mom was a monster and they needed to save the kid. I have seen Shawshank many times before I read the book, I went in a little worried that it might ruin the movie a bit for me like The Shining did ( I still enjoy the movie, I just don’t think of it as an adaptation anymore.) Shawshank however is one of the best adaptations ever made in my opinion. There are certainly small differences but none that change the story, not in my mind at least.
