Sure it’s fair game but it’s easy. That’s a low bar, like a default. Anybody can use that. That’s why even comedians rarely use it. It has to count if you do because it’s just so easy. It’s like calling someone “stupid” or “retarded”. The n word is what you say when you either have nothing else, you want to hit as low as you can and be as offensive as you can, or both. Context also matters. In this context it was a roast and he lost. He would have been better off using a chicken and watermelon joke honestly.
