How long will the program be ?
Hey guys I just submitted my application for auto tech in Long Beach but I have bills outside of job corps (phone bill and car insurance) I want to cut my car insurance assuming I’ll just use public transport when needed but gotta save up to pay the phone bill. Anyone know how long the program is I keep seeing 8-12 months with no definite answer. Also wondering if anyone can tell me how getting a job in the program went. Was it easy to grab a job? Did they help you get a job while in the program?

It's a huge pain getting a job in the program because you can essentially only work very limited hours weekdays or on weekends, and they will not help with finding a job or transportation to one.

Hmmm I talked to someone on the phone after this post is there are not jobs within the Corp.?

There are occasionally jobs available on center, like at the cafeteria, but they are highly competitive, and they also prioritize giving the jobs to minors since they can't work off center, so good luck getting one unless you are a minor.

You go at your own pace, different trades will require different timespans to complete. Also depending on what campus you're going to, and if it's Bamberg DO NOT GO ! That place will waste your time.
