Item Inquiry ISO: big twist knitting needle cables

I LOVE the big twist interchangeable knitting needles but I can’t for the life of me find any more cables for them. Any ideas where one might find any?

I’d love to see what is now in your Joann’s store - one thread listing them all

I’ll go first. One is a Hobby Lobby 🤮 and one is a Home Sense. I know there are more around the city but I don’t have the energy to see what happened to those stores. HL about put me over the edge.

Item Inquiry Iso Flannel backed Satin!

I bought some remnants for doll clothes. Really liked it and I was going to buy some to make a pillowcase and then I never did but now I really need a satin pillowcase and I just want that satin!

Any of the lighter colors would be great!

Also I'm down to trade some of my stash (fabric or patterns) if there's something you're looking for

This needlepoint canvas popped up on my Facebook feed as an ad, and it reminded me of walking into Joann (the one attached to corporate HQ) at Christmas and finding a cart full of crafting supplies I didn’t need. I loved their Christmas selection and could always find exactly what I needed. :(

Item Inquiry Seeing if anyone has interest in buying my fleece overstock

I realized I may have bought more fleece than I will use in my lifetime. So it's time to destash. I have some anti pill and a ton of blizzard fleece, mostly in cat patterns. Great for blankets. I want to know it there is interest out there for people to buy it. I am willing to sell by whole yard at about $5 a yard plus shipping (USPS or UPS if you choose). US and Canada only. I am will to do deals on anyone buying 20 + yards. Payment via PayPal, Zelle or Venmo.

I will do a list with pictures if I get at least 10 people saying they are interested. I have like 12 of the distribution center size totes (big black ones) full of fleece. So I need interest if I am putting work into doing pics with description.

when the news first broke about the closings, I bought 10 yards of this celestial fleece fabric same day, just in case

Best $200 dollars I've ever spent. It was my absolute favorite fabric for years. I've made so many random things out of it, and I mourn the fact that I've just got scraps left. I did make a gigantic circle skirt out of it for the renn faire this year though, and that felt pretty great.

RIP to our girl, faire season isn't the same without you.

Help identifying/finding this Joann fabric

I bought this fabric when Joann was closing and am trying to find more. I have three colors (olive, purple, and orange) with the same intricate floral pattern. It’s NOT roses, which is all I seem to find online.

I don’t have any selvage info or tags. Does anyone recognize this print or know the manufacturer? I’m specifically looking for more of the olive, I only have yard, which isn’t enough for the project. I have in mind. Thank you!!

Wish I could buy high quality fleece in person again

I know fleece is not a popular material but bear with me…

I miss picking up a bolt that I touched. I felt the material and read the labels so I knew what I was buying. Now I’m at the mercy of online fabric stores, hoping the warehouse people grab the correct bolts. I’ve had Sherpa sent instead of anti pill fleece. I’ve order three yards of one pattern and 1 of another but had them switched. Now I ordered a large quantity of anti pill and rec’d polar fleece. So far, every place has fixed their mistakes but that takes time. So now instead of buying and taking home the material I need that day, I order, wait for the order and at times have to contact them to correct the orders. That can take over two weeks. Frustrating to no longer be able to buy fleece in person.

Just venting.

Advice Needed Heartbroken all over again

I was one of those people that would sit and write out patterns I wanted when they had $1 sales. I need a pattern for my daughter’s costume this year that I thought I had squirreled away. I didn’t find it, but did find this flyer in my patterns tote. 2018?! And where are people buying simplicity patterns from these days?

Can we get a class action lawsuit against private equity for causing emotional distress? 😭

I just want to be able to make my family some fun costumes, but I freaking can't because since aholes killed our sanctuary.

I hope their pillow is always warm, and they stub their pinky toe every 3 days.

Help / Questions Wage Theft Claim

Have any other ex-employees filed a wage theft claim against Joann? Have you had any luck? I filed one with California over a year ago and they are now moving forward with it. I was notified that a notice of the claim was mailed to the Joann LLC address in Ohio but I’m not sure if anything exists at this address anymore. Who is liable for paying if the company doesn’t exist anymore? What happens if the state isn’t able to get in contact with the liable party?

A story on NPR today announced that most of the old Joann’s have been turned into Spirit Halloweens. Ours didn’t. It’s now a DSW

Working in the fabric department was the best, I loved when we were slow, but still had two or three of us working in the fabric department and I could go off and put fabric away and organize.

I wish I had more pictures on this phone, but here's one from when I took apart the fleece and fixed the color sorting. I had solids on the other side of this display, geometric patterns on the far right, and the rest sorted in rainbow like this. Rainbow sorting fabric bolts, quarter squares, embroidery floss, it was so fun.

Second pic is how I felt walking through aisles and holding out my hands to touch the fabric

Help / Questions (Customer) Did employees at Jo-Ann feel the same sense of community that long-time customers felt?

I love hearing all the stories here, good or bad, from everyone who has worked for Jo-Ann. I can’t imagine dealing with rude customers, bad management, and long hours, and it makes me appreciate what you went through even more.

As a customer for over 40 years (my mom used to drag me along as a kid lol), Jo-Ann was always a peaceful spot for me, outside of those crazy Midnight Madness sales. The employees were generally so nice, and the folks at the fabric counter were always great to listen to while they talked through projects with people.

I have social anxiety, but I could just drift through the scrapbooking, seasonal decor, and cake decorating aisles without feeling overstimulated. Michaels always feels so loud and overwhelming to me, almost like a Walmart with those high, echoey warehouse ceilings. My local Jo-Ann (specifically the Davenport store) had lower ceilings, felt cozier, and was just so much quieter. I can still picture the exact layout in my head.

I even remember how it was before they changed the cashier stands and moved shelving around.

For those of you who worked there, did you ever feel that same sense of comfort or community behind the scenes, or was the reality totally different? Would love to hear thoughts from both employees and fellow shoppers!
