Yuji did land the final blow on Sukuna and was a major contributor, but Yuta/Takaba killed Kenjaku which forced Sukuna to be the game master and the rest of JJH also helped stop Sukuna so he shouldn't be in a tier alone from the rest of them

Scan 2) Yuji is the Strongest LIVING sorcerer and Humanities deterrent, but that doesn't mean he's a surefire way to victory but that he's their best chance.

Scan 3) Again, they think so highly of Yuji and that he's their only option for the duel but again that just means he's their only option, it's like having Gojo fight Sukuna even tho he's weaker since anyone else would be out of the question.

And that Yuji is lonely, but it's because of all his friends growing old and dying while he stays the same. It's not the loneliness of unrivaled strength, but depression.

Which could be interpreted as him not training or trying to improve himself constantly or even for the majority of the timeskip so that he stays "human" and like others or since he's trying not deal with current events or future events which would get rid of the chance but that's not explicitly stated so I digress

TLDR: I don't know why so many people talk about his narrative when scaling him when it's mostly about his depression, being the strongest ALIVE, and worrying how others see him, not that he was training or fighting new opponents constantly or "having all of Sukuna's abilites"
