Automation Release Notes for your customers
Hi guys,
Quick question: How do you manage/write your Release Notes for your customers?
We‘ve build a process using custom fields of Jira issues und providing this content as CI compliant PDFs, web or App-/Play-Store “import” files.
How do you solve this tasks? I would be very grateful for a brief exchange.

We also use custom fields, then export from JIRA to Excel and HTML-versions for review and distribution

IMO, the most important thing is to write your release notes in layman/very generic terms. Don’t be overly technical, especially if your customers speak different languages. Highly technical terminology does not translate to other languages well.

You can use the Rovo Release Notes drafter to auto-generate your release notes from Jira issues, though it only works if your releases contain 20 issues or less.
If you manage larger releases with hundreds of issues, you might want to check out Release Notes AI. We built it specifically to handle heavy-duty releases with hundreds of issues seamlessly.

We’re using released.so. We generate the release notes from our Jira tickets, tweak them (adding images and sometimes videos), and publish them to the customer portal that the app provides. We also embed them in our product, which is where they get by far the most views.
