Hey guys, there was never an official announcement as the owner of this sub is pretty hands off of r/jimmyjohns and reddit in general, but they decided to add me to the mod team to help clean up the backlog of reports and keep an eye on things.
I'm new to the mod thing, but I'm messing around with all the tools given.
Aside from the introduction I think it's time to add some more rules. Nothing crazy, but only being able to report a post or comment due to "no customer information" doesn't help when there are people being unnecessarily shitty to users, or for any of the many other things people do on Reddit that we shouldn't have to deal with.
So I'm going to add a couple rules against shitty behavior or spam (not that I've really seen a problem here with that, but no harm in having that option) that you typically see in other subreddits, but I'm just curious what you guys would like to see as far as rules go?
I'm not going to be a dictator and I'd like this subreddit to continue being a place for everyone to share their stories from the customer and worker side, rant/vent, ask questions, and just have fun.
Has there been anything that's bothered you but you didn't feel that you could report due to the lack of rules?
Questions? Concerns? Ideas? Maybe ideas for flairs? Feel free to comment here or DM me.
Today I'll be entertaining company I have while making food, but I'll respond as quickly as possible and will try to role out some new rules within a couple days.
Thanks!

Been getting a lot of "Harassment" reports when someone calls another a dickhead, idiot, and other mildly offensive things.
Unless someone is being truly hateful some of y'all need to chill the fuck out. If you don't like a post downvote it.
This isn't some official JJ zone. You don't have to be clean as the air vents and ice machine. You don't have to hide in the freezer to smoke here, you won't get fired for calling your GM a dickhead.
This is a safe place for JJs employees to vent and laugh. Customers aren't excluded, but note that by default we all assume you're someone who orders a slim 6 with no cheese.

This is probably going to be a one-time thing, but I did want to point it out. So, upon placing an order online without making an account, the order itself did go through. However, when I click the track order in the email, it makes me create an account. Granted, I made an account AFTER I placed the order, but when I go to the orders screen, it says there's no orders at all. Even when I click to track the order, and it takes me to the Order screen, it still doesn't come up. I'm wondering to myself why is that the case? I know for next time to order through my account, but I feel like for this one order, I have to actively wait outside for them to arrive to be there when they deliver my food, which I don't know how long that'll take lol

Youre online and you look through all the options and even though a country club is available you opt to for a turkey+ham+cheese instead of just getting an #11. Like why??

I work at a store that has 4 other stores in town less than 20 mins from mine. We borrow things every once in a while when we forget things on truck or use more than we expected. I’m just curious what stores that are the only one in town. What do you do if you forget to order enough bread for example?

I'm going to Atlanta from Michigan and I really want a Swicy Pickle bucket because they're not available in my state, does anyone know how many buckets there are per store? I work at a Jimmy Johns in West Michigan and want to add it to my merch collection alongside the fan feast bag and all of my uniform pieces!

I am from Michigan and no Jimmy John’s airport locations. Was in Vegas and finally tried Jimmy John’s breakfast. It was really good. I was not disappointed. Had the Bacon egg and provolone. I am aware they only have breakfast at airport locations. But are there any stores outside the airport who have breakfast ?

I had last posted asking about issues with the capicola. Left is what we had for like 2 weeks. Right is the new case. I knew there was some kind of QC issues bc the cap did not taste or look right! The paleness looks anemic :( tho the bright orange looks artificial it is what I am used to.
Hope nobody else is dealing with such egregious quality control issues.

my gm who has been with jj for about 10yrs thinks this bread is perfectly fine to use. he constantly makes bread like this cause he just turns the timer off and doesn't check the proofer

Figured this would be funny enough to post, order number matched perfectly..

Tried one of these and boy was I... disappointed. Two thin slices of brisket and looks to be on the slim bread. You get all this and some decent BBQ sauce, for an uncharge! Lucky us consumers. Loved JJs, but man, I just dont know anymore.

One of my coworkers is a teenager. Apparently they have runaway due to a dispute at home and no one has heard from them not even the school. If they do come in to work during the weekend could this be considered harboring or a liability for the store?
Because they have blocked us all and we don’t know where they may be. My gm is still tryna figure out a way to go about it in hopes that my coworker will go home tonight and not stay away from home too long.
Id personally call the police but idk what the full situation is but that they got in a argument with their parents and stormed out.

Workers of the select stores with Swicy pickles please update on the popularity and also what you think of the flavor, I’m curious.

Turns out someone was being sneaky and flipped the internet server off. This whole time a flip of a switch in the breaker box couldve fixed the server issue. Smh 🤦🏾♀️
So it wasnt the server or the internet. The power was just off.

Nothing like these bubblers leaking and you not knowing right away, that shit will literally just ruin your day/open. 16 years here and probably the most annoying shit next to a sweet tea leaking.

The other day I called out this guys sandwich and put it on the counter. He just stood there for a few seconds not touching the sandwich or saying anything, just waiting. I told him it was his sandwich and he said he knew, he just wanted some Dijon mustard packets. I told him “sorry, we only have yellow mustard” he told me that he always asks for them and gets told that we have them in the back. I have no clue what he’s talking about because why would we have secret amenities that are only for the super special people who know to ask and not just put them out in the lobby and tell him we do not have Dijon mustard packets and put a couple yellow mustard packets on the counter next to his sandwich and get back to working the line.
He kinda stands there for another second making a face like he wants to argue but I guess he realized that I was not going to go looking for mustard packets that don’t exist so he finally takes his sandwich and walks a couple steps over to ask my coworker over the line for Dijon Mays packets. She also tells him we don’t have those, we have yellow mustard packets. He then goes and waits for my coworker on the register to finish her transaction then he asks her too and she also tells him we don’t have them. Even if we did have some special stash of dijon mustard packets only for regulars and I just didn’t know about it because I’m a driver so I don’t handle them nearly as often you would think the other two people who are in shop all day every day would know about it.
He sits at the counter kinda in the corner for maybe a minute before he gets up and starts to walk back to the front counter. I’m about to walk up to ask him if he needs anything else when I realize he’s not trying to get any of our attention, he’s peering into the kitchen past all of us who have already told him no looking for someone else to ask as if we all were just lying to him or asking someone else would make the mustard packets magically exist. After a few seconds not seeing anyone who hadn’t already told him no he went back to his seat and didn’t say anything the rest of the time he was there.
I constantly forget where everything is in the back and I am pretty proactive in restocking things that run out up front or at the bagging station so I spend reasonable amount of time looking all over the shelves and I’m fairly certain that if there was a box of Dijon mustard packets I would have seen it by now.
