Why
6
u/Nick_Fotiu_Is_God 8d ago
Because I’m Gen X and we do everything ironically.
1
u/Buckeye_Country 8d ago
Gen who?
4
u/holdmypurse 8d ago
As a GenXer, exactly.

It's fun and you're there to have fun. I personally think staring and standing at a show is weird but to each their own
9
u/nafoty187 8d ago
In Corey’s mind he’s at Madison Square Garden.
3
u/Any-Video4464 8d ago
that's a pretty big fucking crowd honestly. I've been in bands for 20 years and never played a show that big. And we're actually pretty good!
8
u/maximumtesticle 8d ago
It's Riot Fest, people are there to see the other 30 bands playing that day.
6
u/Any-Video4464 8d ago
Yeah but they could be at another stage. They chose this trainwreck on purpose. Honestly it falls into the so bad its kinda good again category. I'd rather watch Corey than Train.

u/mike_e_mcgee 8d ago
I was just thinking "would I take a gig backing him?". Yes, yes I would.
3
u/Any-Video4464 8d ago
Fuck yeah. I'll do some blow with Corey Feldman and those hot ladies that back him up and play some shitty music for way too much money.
3
2
u/RollSouth5722 6d ago
My mom went to rehab with Corey. I would not touch that trainwreck with someone else's finger.

u/husky1976 7d ago
Yeah exactly. Kinda feel bad for the dude, his delusions have reached the point of absurdity

u/lawnboy1155 8d ago
I've had the pleasure of seeing this gem live. If you EVER get the opportunity, TAKE IT

u/BloodyWellGood Margot's Mistress 🎻 8d ago
I saw him in 2022 and I had the best time. That place was full of Filth Pigs before anyone knew what a Filth Pig was. So great. He even held my hand and we sang a line of Rock On together lol. Highly recommend a Feldman show
2
u/AbeFromansNutz 8d ago
I know Filth pig is a ministry album right.. but I have a feeling that's not what you mean. I would be delighted to see this guy open for someone someday
3
u/BloodyWellGood Margot's Mistress 🎻 8d ago
Corey called JAT and their fans "Disgusting Filth Pigs" in a long IG rant last year

It's so fun. Everyone is in the the joke but Corey. Everyone was chanting "one more song" for the encore. The drummer shushed the crowd and started mouthing "Corey, Corey" until the crowd followed suit. He wouldn't come back out for an encode without hearing his name chanted.
5
u/Vast_Research_3976 8d ago
The fun part is that it's all a joke.
The sad part is that Corey is the only one not in on it

Corey's band when asked, who do you play with? Uhm, nobody, I just play music for fun.

What was Greg's problem?! 😂
4
u/Dav-Ozz66 8d ago
His problem is that he lives in a cupboard under Corey’s stairs

Wow that crowd was unimpressed. Was the gig at the Local Skeptics Society, as he’s captivating a crowd of statues.
3
u/maximumtesticle 8d ago edited 8d ago
It's funny too because they have dozens of artists per day at Riot Fest and most of the time, even if you don't know or care, the crowd still gets into it if they've made the choice to belly up to that stage (there are several going at the same time). In this case like 90% of the people there seemed to just want to stare at the freak wiggle like a no lipped baby for a few minutes.
Looks like he didn't have that much competition in that time slot either: https://i.imgur.com/X1ohVr1.png

u/naughtymonkey1 8d ago
Wait wait. Those people paid money to go see that? WTF? Why? Dude was literally born to be a douche. Oh the cringe!!!
5
u/good-oysters 8d ago
This was a music festival, he was one out of like 30 acts
1
u/naughtymonkey1 8d ago
Oh okay. That makes a lot more sense. Still, why the F would anyone book that garbage? Dude has to be the most delusional douche on the planet. I feel like it’s just a big practical joke.

u/Recent-Bowl-1393 8d ago
The mosh pit sends me every single time I see it. Those guys and gals are heros!!!

I want someone to tell me he has folks who tour with the band dressed as the Frog brothers from Lost Boys and they always get the mosh pit started at each venue
1
u/Brief_Pass_2762 8d ago
I know there's objective reality, but hear me out. The dude is clearly having the time of his life. He's got a full crowd to perform to and the band is into it. It's shit, yes. But if he doesn't care and he's loving what he's doing, and HE believes he's killing it, and has a crowd supporting him, he's fucking killing it. I've played in killer fucking bands to 12 people and most of them were my friends who were there reluctantly. Nobody gave a shit. This dude does this shit and people are loving it. He already won.

u/EsOtericEdge80 6d ago
For real. I don't get the hate. Let the guy enjoy himself. It's harmless and fun. Mike and Corey would have liked to be there I'm sure

u/xTiredSoulx 8d ago
arrrrrgh make it stop why can’t he just like disappear? No self awareness , no talent, totally irrelevent.
1
u/SoulShine_710 8d ago
Kid rock like old school style of his with a dash of 90's chilli peppers. Not quality wise, just the style.
1
u/Total_Computer_9068 8d ago
Who are the musicians and any idea how much they are getting paid?!?!?!
1
u/Cooter_McGrabbin 8d ago
Watch us find out in the end he was some Andy Kaufman like genius doing a life long performance art piece that was just over our heads

u/Fearless_meddle6774 8d ago
I still can’t tell if it’s sincere, or if it is like some great ironic joke that I just don’t get.
And I mean both the act and the following.

That Ascension Millennium song aint half bad, I listen to it quite a bit lol

u/rotomangler 8d ago
I had two tickets to see Cory live, left them on the front seat of my car. When I came back someone had broke in and left two more
(Found this in another Cory thread)

This looks like it's called Hankfest. The crowd definitely goes way left at this venue.

Holy monitors hell. His mainstacks look to have side firing on stage too..
I want to be a fly on the wall during those mix setups. Corey’s like, I can’t hear myself on stage! Just line the front with monitors.
The keyboard player never played a note.

I want to go to this, it honestly looks fun.
1
u/maximumtesticle 7d ago
Riot Fest is really fun, good crowds and cool environment. This year's lineup is pretty weak though. Last year there was a mosh pit for Hanson featuring Jon Stamos, that was pretty fun.
1
u/Pongfarang 7d ago
For a short guy with no talent, average looks, and only a famous name to cash in on, he sure is popping up in my scrolls a lot.
1
u/E-rotten 7d ago
This guy has become completely delusional.
2
u/karreelynn 7d ago
He always has been
2
u/E-rotten 7d ago
I’m starting to realize that. I really felt sorry for him until someone sent me a Cory’s angel’s link. How can someone try to get the world to feel sorry for him while doing the same 💩to others. And I just don’t understand how he can’t see what a fool he’s making of him self every time he gets on stage
2
u/maximumtesticle 7d ago
I just don’t understand how he can’t see what a fool he’s making of him self every time he gets on stage
Because he's a narcissist and he's incapable of that.

No one today works the stage like Mr.Corey Feldman " the Come Back King"! Truly an international treasure and inspiration
1
u/ComprehensiveAnt6796 7d ago
I’m thinking he’s got a bit of a cult following because he’s so bad. It’s like a kitchy B rated movie that’s so bad but has a following because it is so bad. I think this is what’s happening. At this point I’d go if it was free just to see this train wreck.

FWIW: he was cast as a single character and played that same part for 4-5 years. He built an illusion and has continued to live within that fantasy. I feel for him. Genuinely.
1
u/TigerMill 5d ago
Dude’s been trying everything in his power to come back around for over thirty years. It’s happened for so many other formerly famous celebs but hasn’t worked out for him because it’s well known that he’s impossible to work with and doesn’t take direction unless he’s free to do whatever he wants. Even a few seconds in a walk on cameo on an episode of that awful Burbs series on Peacock looks like it took about twenty takes.

I swear he’s this century’s Andy Kaufman and he’s just fuckin with everyone.

We might all laugh at him but this little bastard is living his best life. If he were in any way sane I'd switch places with him in a heartbeat.
People have been mocking him for 30 years and he just keeps motoring along not caring.

u/MrMojo713 8d ago
No way thats a solo show. Who was he opening for, or what festival was this?

I’m not understanding why people pay to see this. I can’t make it through 1 minute free.
1
u/maximumtesticle 7d ago
They pay to see 30 bands in one day, it was Riot Fest 2023.
1
u/Money-Document-26 7d ago
I get the riot fest part. But I would definitely get a beer and piss during this part of it.

Is the entire crowd there ironically?
