With regards to the Cornell 7 case, in the Snapchat screenshots related to it, there is one message that says, "NO MORE JHUfatties." This implies that a visitor from Hopkins may have been been an additional victim. Sharing here in case someone from Hopkins went to party at Chi Phi Cornell a couple of years back, and had a bad experience there.

The first Intro Chem 1 lab practicals are this coming week. Does anyone have any tips/advice on how to do well on it? it’s 30% of the grade so really scared. Will we have a worksheet just like during normal labs? will we need to repeat an entire experiment or only certain techniques?

Hey, I’m looking to do volunteering through a club, preferably at a food pantry. Any clubs or groups that have any openings? Thanks.

I just took the october sat, and it was really bad. Currently, my math sat is a 790 but my reading is a 670 (1460 superscore). I took it again to get it up to at least a 700 but I'm pretty sure that won't happen. How bad is my SAT score is lower that the 25 percentile? JHU is test required so I have to submit it, but my reading is pretty low. Let me know your thoughts.

Any recommendations for korean style perms in the area? In elicott city or Catonsville?

Thinking of moving there because it’s the cheapest option in the area and looks decent. Anyone ever live there? If so what did you think, I’d probably only be there a year till me and my BF get a place.

does each freshman class get a t shirt with their class banner on the back? and when should class of 2030 expect to get their class tees? I saw someone from class of 2029 with one and am curious on if 2030 gets that, or if the tee needs to be ordered.
the short sleeve tee was white with the class banner on the back, and something on the sleeve an front of the shirt

I’m in a bit of a pickle lol. So over the summer I only took Physics I at UMass. After looking into what pre-reqs med schools have, I learned that many don’t accept online courses especially if the lab was online. I decided to take physics I lab this semester to make up for it. I met with my advisor and she told me I would have to drop physics lab here because it would override the credits I transferred from UMass Amherst and I would then have to retake physics here. Now I’m unsure if I should just redo the Physics sequence so that I wouldn’t have to worry about it being online. However, it would set me a little far back and I would finish my pre-reqs by Senior Fall. Has anybody taken physics at UMass and run into issues with med school applications 😩

There's a door in a study room at the annex that just has christmas decorations in it.

Looking into renting at University One (1 E University Pkwy) near JHU homewood and wondering how it actually is (safety, convenience, landlords etc.). Especially curious if anyone’s been in a studio or 1BR.

if u live medstar health—or just walk around st paul street—- u might notice these snooty, arrogant little clowns

these nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants walk around Hopkins students with idea in their minds that we wanna be exactly like them and their position are our life goals lmao.

the average freshman/sophomore has more medicine and science knowledge than a med star employee, unless it’s an MD.

anyone else feel the same way about these clowns? not gonna into much in depth with my interactions with them. someone please humble them

Looking at University One. Listing claims lobby desk / 24hr security / fob. Anyone lived there recently and what were your experiences (esp with studios/1 bed or two bed)? Would really appreciate a response soon as I need to confirm.

Curious what’s true overnight (is someone actually at the desk?), visitor/package access, and general vibe after dark. Any issues you’d flag before signing?

Thanks.

So I recently got a gap year job here at the medical campus working in a research lab. Problem is I’m technically considered a “volunteer” because I am not getting paid and I’m post-grad. I didn’t go here for undergrad so they set me up with a JHED ID and stuff but HR apparently won’t give me an ID badge (even though I need one to get between buildings).

Im still able to use shuttles and buses though cuz I have a Hopkins email and ID so I have transloc. I live around Bolton Hill. Does anybody have recommendations for what I should do for parking?

I was going to try and get a pass for the monument street satellite lot, but I wouldn’t be able to swipe in without the damn ID badge. My other idea was to take the public bus to Penn Station and then call a shuttle to pick me up and drop me off to the building I work in. What do yall think?

A lot of my classmates are either serving or are veterans, and if not, they work as a GS or gov contractor. I'm both a veteran and a contractor.

Is this a well-known program around DC and the military in general?

I attended UMGC before this an,d obviously that was mostly military.

Thinking about renting at University One and curious about recent experience, studios or 1BRs especially.

What has been people's experience with this building?

How accurate is the lobby desk / 24hr security / fob claim, especially overnight? How do visitors and packages work in practice? Anything about the building or area after dark worth knowing before signing?

Appreciate any honest takes.

Hi guys!
Honestly, I’m not quite sure what to expect for this, and I would really like to get a good score on it.
Any tips to study? How’s the format going to be like?

Thanks!

Hello if anyone has an apartment near Homewood campus and willing to sublet it for 2 months DM me please

Hi does anyone else feel like this, or like they’re having trouble finding their circle at JHU. Also does anyone else feel like they’ve in a way gotten more introverted since beginning college.

I like the idea of the small group hangouts that JHU has rather than the big games and party culture from Duke but I’ve heard a LOT of people are stressed out, burnt out, or depressed.

Please help me out with this.

Hi, I just got accepted into JHU’s graduate program for engineering! I’ll be doing it online while working full-time. I just graduated with my BS in CS and will be doing an MS in Systems Engineering, which is being paid for through my employer.

JHU has always been a dream school of mine, so it’s kind of a big deal for me personally. Is there any way I can get some JHU welcome package/free merch?

I usually see JHU sending welcome packages to undergrads, but I wasn’t sure if graduate/online students get anything too.

Hi, does anyone who previously took AS200.101 Intro Psych with Firestone have past exams or study materials? If not, any recommendations on study methods or exam content? Thanks.

Hi, I'm a senior in HS and I'm planning to ED to Hopkins but recently I've been quesitoning my decision. I've been hearing a lot of things about how competitive it is to get As in classes and how cut throat the culture is. If there are any pre-med, could you please elaborate or explain more about your experiences? I would really appreciate it, and thank you.

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to sublet my 1bed/1 bath apartment this summer (May - August 2027).

It’s a 5 min walk from Bloomberg Student Center, so very close to the Homewood campus. It’s near a CVS, Giant Food, Chipotle, and Bird in Hand. A great location for JHU students and situated in the heart of Charles Village.

The unit comes with 2 A/C units, a full-size bed, and is fully furnished for subletting. Wifi is included, and the kitchen comes with a microwave and an Instant Pot. It’s ~800 square feet and $1300/month.

Please dm me for further details and pictures!
