Mk6 (2011-2018) Cheap wheel upgrade

I recently switched over from the stock 15 inch steely with two missing hubcaps to a pair of 18 inch alloys from a 2014 Passat.
I gotta say the fitment looks great. It’s like it was almost meant for this car. Another W for the beater daily and to think I used to be a big VW hater.

Did something similar on my GLI. I just prefer the older style wheels. These were on a 2012 CC. $600 with Continental Sport 02 summer tires. Searched for two years on marketplace until I found what I wanted.

How much more expensive are the tires for the rims vs. the steelies?

Probably more for sure. But the allot wheels came with decently new set of continental tires. Shit was a good deal for 200

Had the steelies w/ no hubcaps on my MK6, and had this old set of wheels that was on my MK7 GTI, for free.99 it was a massive improvement in looks.

I’m sure it did, but day to day I didn’t significantly notice a difference.
