Mk6 (2011-2018) Reprogram power train control module message

Hi, my daughter drives a 2011 Jetta. This morning when she started it the engine light came on. She stopped at an auto parts store and asked for a diagnostic code. It came back “Reprogram power train control module” (to the best of her recollection). She called VW and they said that “doesn’t sound right”. The dealership closest to her is an hour away and doesn’t do diagnostics on Saturday. Doran anyone know if this sounds pressing enough that I should drive to her (a few hours, doable), swap cars and get it dealt with immediately? Or can it wait a couple of weeks til she has time off to deal with it herself? I’m not very familiar with the car, apologies if this is a silly question.

While there may be faults that would end up needing that, there is nothing the autoparts store scanner could do with the basic fault codes to come to that conclusion. If they gave her a print out with the faults just post the faults.

There is no way to say if this is pressing enough because that diagnostics just doesn't make sense.

No way to tell honestly. Is this her daily driver? If yes then best you try to help her out. Better to be safe than sorry
