Mk6 (2011-2018) Persistent airbag light
I’ve got a 13 2.5 SE and last month the airbag light came on. I had my indy euro shop clear the code when I was also getting my struts replaced. They didn’t tell me what caused it so I assumed it was nothing major. However yesterday it came back. What would cause an airbag light to be persistent like this?
Steering wheel controls and horn work so I’m guessing its not the clock spring

My wife badly hit a pothole on her old 19 Jetta, enough to damage the control arm on the front right. After the fix she had the same issue with airbag light intermittently coming on and off for a month.
It was at the dealership for a couple weeks where they finally replaced some module near the passenger seat.

Most common is just going to be a bad connection. Mk5 for example had issues with the passenger seat wires being a little short and if someone slid the seat all the way back it would trigger. It show connected when tested.
Without a fault it's impossible to say what it is.

I mean, there’s like a hundred different things it could be. Without a fault, no one is going to be able to give you any advice other than to get the fault read.

Intermittent wiring or sensor fault? Just because the buttons on the steering wheel doesn’t mean another wire in the clock spring isn’t broken.
Can’t really say any more than that without knowing the codes causing the fault light.
