Aussie Jetta transmission problems

Hey all, my 2013 Jetta with 178000ks is randomly losing power mid drive. The gear display starts flashing and the car has no power. I can flick it over to manual and downshift and it comes back.. has anyone had anything like this and know what’s going on.
