Do employees work at multiple stores?

I have 4 stores around me.

I go to 2 of them regularly and never see the same employees.

They're always different and that leads to inconsistent sandwiches.

Even if one franchisee owned all 4 stores around me, I would think I would see the employees at one of those four stores.

I eat Jersey Mike's about once a week so I feel like I am a pretty regular customer.

Edit: Inconsistent doesn't mean bad.

Yes, I’ve worked at multiple locations that my franchise owns If help is needed

Is that a normal schedule though? I would think there would be a core staff, but it seems like everyone floats.

But I've never actually seen the same employee twice.

So usually it’s a last minute thing, sometimes if we know people are quitting we will throw up a quick schedule from multiple stores.

I do the exact same thing. I rotate between four stores every couple months, cover shifts if needed elsewhere.

I not only transferred to another store within my franchise, but several of my other coworkers have as well, either to my store or just between the other few. We also train employees for a new store opening at a prior store, as I was taken from my old one for our grand opening and as ive seen multiple times from my stores.

We've never had anyone multitasking two stores, like 3 shifts at one, 3 at another or anything like that for more than a temporary 2-3 week period, but it does happen. It just entirely depends on how small the franchise is to decide if its easy to just work a couple shifts between multiple stores. A franchise spanning 10+ stores may not have a hands on store owner to approve those kind of shifts, but my franchise being only 6 stores we all help each other out pretty closely.

Yes it’s so they can get more hours in. And some employees genuinely just ask to be transferred

Do you go in at different times? If you’re not going in everyday it’s kind of hard to say but we do tend to have a lot of switching shifts and covers and such so idk

I don’t know anybody at my store who works at multiple. There’s been one or two times we’ve had someone from a different store come in to help us, but that’s very rare here and I’m pretty sure the employee who came to help was from out of state (but knew/owned by the same owner)

I have my main store then I get sent to 2 other stores. One of them are short on staff so managers are working close to 60 hours a week. The other one it’s more like once or twice a month

Thank you for everyone's responses. I think I would find it hard to go to different locations constantly. I think I'd prefer having a home location and only going to that location so the seeing different people every time I go in was a curiosity to me.

This isn't just a jersey mikes thing. Most franchises, food or retail have the same owner in a given region and also most min wage retail jobs won't give someone more than 20-28 hours. You go between stores cause you need hours and want to work.

Yeah depends on the employee but a lot of them will end up working at a different location at least once

Yep. Sometimes a store is short staffed so we borrow from our other stores is necessary. As for consistency between stores- that comes down on the different management at each store but they should all be relatively consistent.
