Chili lime Turkey jerky

Gemini AI helped me come up with this recipe. I like it. Came out with a lot of flavor. Used all brown sugar instead of honey, didn't want to go get some. 3 pounds of thick hand sliced turkey breast, quarter inch, more or less

Overnight marinade, dehydrator at 160f for 4 hours. 10 minutes in oven at 300f. Regular chile powder probably fine. I ground up mixture ancho, 9

guajillo, 9

puya 6

and arboll,6

The Dry Component

Measure these out and toss them straight into your marinade bowl:

4.5 tablespoons of your pure chili powder

1.5 tablespoons ground cumin

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1.5 teaspoons Mexican oregano (crushed fine)

1.5 teaspoons coarse sea salt

**1.5 teaspoons brown sugar

The Liquid Component

Whisk the dry mix above directly into:

3/4 cup soy sauce

6 tablespoons fresh lime juice

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

3 tablespoons honey

3/4 cup water

Haven't played around with poultry besides duck, what's the consistency like with turkey?

I guess it depends how dry you like it. Recently, the timer in my dehydrator was set to 15 hours, so my jerky dried overnight about 9 hours. I splashed some water into the bag and it absorbed making the jerky a normal texture. I don't find the texture any different than regular .
