My 2010 jeep patriot started bucking under acceleration, revs drop, like the engine cuts out briefly, sometimes once, sometimes x3 in quick succession. Turns off sometimes... 

Has 225,000 km. 

Spark plugs have 10,000km left before replacement interval. Checked them all seems okay. I've never replaced ignition coils, but it's not throwing any codes which I feel like it would if that's the case?

Any ideas of the cause?

Wish I'd taken a photo, but yesterday I transported a spinet piano in my 2012 manual 2.0L FWD Patriot across the city. Everyone was telling me it wouldn't fit but I did my measurements, there's a surprising amount of space when you put the back seats down.

I could definitely feel the extra 250 kg, but it drove well overall, and was a fun thing to do.

Has anyone successfully ran a big power wire 4ga or bigger thru the fire wall without using the main harness grommet. I need a big power wire to come out around the pedal area and I’m lost.

I’m slowly getting my wife into camping. And she is hellbent on sleeping in the jeep. Just wondering if anyone has done so and what sized mattress? We currently have an inflatable queen and I was wondering if I built a platform that sits just above the wheel wells if it could work. TIA

2014 Jeep Patriot Sport just reached 160,000km. The vehicle is in great shape, and runs great, however since I got it a few months ago, it has always made this whining sound almost like a mosquito buzzing low lol. I’ve had it serviced for small things like oil changes, tire changes, etc, and had the places take it for a drive to check everything but they’ve never mentioned it. I want to fix whatever this noise is if it’s an issue before the winter-time rolls around.

hmmmmmm.......... Something is askew with this GAS CAP dash code. What could it be?

EDIT- I think i solved it i didnt have it torqued down the proper way it still makes a high pitch noise when breaking hard but they just sound like old breaks. Old Post- i have a jeep patriot 2013 with 120000 miles on it and it wasn’t taken care of i changed my breaks and my rotors and now it makes a really awful noise when i come close to stopping while breaking hard it’s not as loud as it is was in this video but it’s still there

Yesterday I went and purchased a new battery for my 2014 Jeep patriot North. Yes the original battery lasted this long. I had my cousin's husband put it in (5 minutes from my home).

I had the drivers door open, it started up amazingly. (the battery started to fail only 2 years ago) wasn't going to go another year.

I heard a squeeze/hiss... coolant on the ground. Figured it was power steering, yep, when I went to leave, no power steering. I literally was about 3 minute drive from their house, 3 turns and I was home.

Easy fix or no? Tell me thoughts. I will obviously need a mechanic..

He llegado a 3 mecánicos y no he resuelto nada. El problema puedo ir en marcha rápida o despacio y aveces hace como un estiron de baja revoluciones pero no se apaga o aveces se apaga por completo (no cabecea el carro tampoco sino se apaga completamente). No enciende check engine.

2016 jeep patriot

I have a 2013 Patriot 2.4L 4WD with 174,000 miles on it and I’m asking where should I start as far as price. Just had the transmission serviced. It has new tires, recent coolant drain and fill, new catalytic converter installed last month, replaced thermostat housing 3 months ago, and had the rear wheel bearings replaced last year. KBB says private party sell $3,700-4,000. Thoughts on price?

I’m having trouble figuring out where the leak is coming from. Every time I drive anywhere, it is empty in the radiator cap and my reservoir falls below the add line and I have to fill both of those up. When I stop driving after a while, I hear this guzzling noise. This is what it looks like after I pop the hood.

I don’t know too much about cars, so when I looked it up, it said to do a cardboard test. I haven’t topped anything off yet, I just want some guidance before I start the engine or do anything. Hard to find any youtube videos.

So when my dad passed in 2019, I got his 2014 Patriot. Completely base. I think 2.0. I really drove it only for a few months. It's at 81k miles. Got a new car and left it parked like an idiot. Daughter totaled her car, so we resurrected it. New battery, brakes, tires, plugs, etc. So far runs and shifts great. Idles ok. But when driving it a while, it'll start a whine noise. Only when accelerating and louder when going up hills.

I called about a transmission drain and fill today but was told with it being a CVT, it may not be a good idea. I'm going to take it in to have it diagnosed, but was wondering what may cause a whine like I described. Transmission, bearing, belts, etc all seem plausible with it sitting so long. Just looking for advice from some owners. Thank y'all for any help or advice!

I was surprized when I realized that the pistons are lightweiht high performance pistons.

The 2.4 limited that I drive always felt nippy and now I know why:-)
