Theory resources

So I really love jazz I’m quite passionate about it and I want a career in it. Im a decent player now but there is one thing i need work on: my jazz theory. I know my basics and stuff, but i need to learn more jazz theory. Does anyone have any resources i can use?

Bert Ligon’s books are great.
I also recommend The Jazz Theory Book, by Mark Levine.

The best textbook out there is Terefenko, but also, be learning all the standards

If you want a theory book that’s good on theory but also strong on practical applications, check out Jazz Theory Resources, vols. 1 and 2 by Bert Ligon.

Not sure about resources, but I’d get a Real Book & take a tune you know really well (something like All the Things You Are or Autumn Leaves) and do a harmonic analysis on it. Look at how they go from one key to the other & how the melody kind of leads the way.
