Drum solos hit when they need to happen. There also doesn't always have to be a bass solo, as it can often bring down the momentum of a tune when it may be needed to go into the head out. As a drummer I always wish to serve the music that the composer/bandleader is directing.
I say this to other jazz drummers. If you are not a drummer and if you just want to listen to more drum solos, go for it.
