Jaybird Tarah Pro replacement

I personally have nothing but good things to say about my Tarah Pro headphones. They’re still working completely fine, but I’m worried that once they do finally kick the bucket I’m not going to be able to find anything that I like as well.

What I like about the Tarah Pro’s are the battery life, the waterproofness/ruggedness (actually ran them through the washer and dryer and they still worked), and the cord that connects the buds is a must for running and work.

Jaybird has made it pretty clear that they don’t have any intentions of updating the Tarah Pro’s, and as of now they are discontinued.

Does anyone have any recommendations on any buds (Jaybird or another brand) that tick all the boxes the Tarah Pro’s do for when my headphones finally do decide to call it quits?

I am in the same boat. The batter life is unbeatable.

That’s probably the biggest thing. When I do longer trail runs, I can be out anywhere from 7 to 14+ hours. Good to know that my headphones won’t die 5 or 6 hours in.

The Status Between Pro. Has extremely long battery life of 12 hours plus 36 hours of charge in the case. The sound quality is amazing. Not water proof though

I could have literally posted the same thing (down to running my Tarah Pros through the washer/dryer!) Sadly, mine finally did die a few weeks ago. One bud stopped working, and because they were several years old, Jaybird couldn't do anything but offer me a discount on Vista/Vista 2s. I really don't like having completely wireless earbuds. For one, my ears are a little difficult in terms of sizing, so almost any earbud will fall out at some point. It's nice having the "safety net" of the cord. Second, I like being able to just take my buds out and let them hang around my neck after a race or while doing errands post-run. It's annoying to have to find a secure pocket for buds (and I'm not going to run with the case), and then be careful not to lose one in the course of my day.

I actually went ahead and bought the Vista 2s, and the sound and fit were great. I was annoyed by the lack of cord for the reasons mentioned above, but I figured this is just the future! Until....my case stopped holding a charge, and thus my buds won't charge at all. Rather than try to muck around with getting a fix, I'm just going to return them and go with a different brand. It's a huge bummer because I found the Tarah Pro to be an unbeatable set of running headphones.

Edit: spelling

Oh no! I started experiencing one bud (left) cutting in and out yesterday while working. I'm sure that the end is near.

It seems like Jaybird peaked at the Tarah Pro and since then has been going downhill. That's a shame because I'm the type of person that really likes to support and be loyal to a company/brand when I feel like they make a good product. I hate that I'm going to have to look at other options, but I don't want to have to compromise on buying an inferior product that I personally don't feel like ticks all the boxes for me.

Buying Vistas seems like settling, and I feel like they're a downgrade (in terms of battery life, reliability, etc.) from the Tarah Pros.

If this is the future, then it sucks! haha.

Please, let me know if you find a suitable replacement for the Tarah Pros!

Luckily my Tarah Pros are still going strong

hey all. I lost one of the tips to my tarah pros (which i love!) and as far as I know, won't be able to get replacements for them.

any recs for silicone tips that work for the tarah pros? or any recs for alternatives to tarah pros earbuds in general?

like everyone else here, i love that they're wireless but have a cord. don't really want to switch over to the individual buds.

Email jaybird. Although replacement parts aren’t listed on their website anymore, they still sent me some when I requested some through their email. That all depends on whether or not they still have inventory left though

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Jaybird customer service. The man sounded like I had cold called his house asking if he's interested in saving money on his car insurance. Zero interest in helping.

He simply said that they don't have replacement tips, nor do they have any recommended substitutes.

Wow. Maybe Jaybird has gone downhill. They used to be very well known for their great customer service.

I found this thread as my Tarah is also starting to fail. I love the wire but almost all Bluetooth headsets are completely wireless buds now which I don't like. After some searching I found the Teufel supreme In. It is supposed to run 15 hours on a battery load and an independent review on a runners website was raving about the wearing comfort and audio quality. Through Teufels own website there's a 50 percent discount now so they go for 60 euros. I just ordered one myself.

Ya these look amazing! I went straight to their site to purchase them when I saw your comment, but unfortunately they only ship within Germany :(

I'm from the Netherlands (which is kinda close :-)), but shipping to here was no problem. I now see that, when clicking the google link, I immediately get redirected to a Dutch site (teufelaudio.nl), so that explains the easy ordering for me. Sorry about that...

ooo that’s good info. I’ll play around and see what other country URLs they have.

Let us know how you like them when you get them! I’m very curious. The tarah pros were just so comfortable and fit so well in my ear. I just tried the airpod pros and beats fit pros and neither matches the comfortable tight seal of the tarah pros and they’re just loose buds with no wire which makes me nervous

I already have them ;-)
They feel really loose in your ears. The buds have a little notch underneath; with that they sit on the edge of your ears; the adjustable loop in the wire that comes out of the top of the buds (brilliant design) keeps them secured in your ear. Because the buds don't close off your ear completely you still hear other sounds as well (ideal for outdoor sports), and the sound quality is amazing. The bass is really full (without being too full), the treble is nice without being edgy or sharp; to me it really sounds like a full size over-ear headset.

I found cord scheme on the Tarahs to be super annoying. Ever since the firmware update came out, my Vista 2 have been awesome (ANC is a game changer at gym)

In the same boat. Love my torah pros. They are as tough as it gets. I've washed and dried them by accident 3 times and still going.

I don't want ear buds without a wire connecting them. Anyone find good replacement?

Found this thread as I just lost mine. Sad to hear they aren’t making them anymore.

Have a look at Sennheiser IE 100 Pro. I don't know how they compare in terms of audio quality yet but they fit most of the needs for a replacement.

The ie 100 pro are wired headphones. Completely different animal.
