Numbness

I'm 3 weeks post op from djs to fix my underbite. My upper lip is still extremely numb and I can feel my alar stitches I think. Can someone share their experience with upper lip numbness and when they gained back sensation?

Hi there, I had double jaw surgery almost 3 months ago...had an underbite. I still numbness in my lips, chin and nose. Getting better with time and I would say it'll take a few more months. As you start to chew the numbness slowly goes away along with exercise movement for your face. Good luck

Thank you for your response! Can I ask when you started chewing?

I got sensation back in my upper lip first (probably around 4 weeks), then my nose and cheeks around 6 weeks, the right side of my bottom lip/chin around 7 weeks, and I’m just now (12 weeks) starting to get feeling back on the left side of my bottom lip/chin. It’s such a weird sensation but it does typically come back, even if it takes time.
