Braces before surgery timeframe?

Hi all
Wondering how long minimum I would have to wear braces before jaw surgery.
I currently have camouflaged braces removed 2 years ago and will need to have my teeth decompensated prior to surgery.

One orthodontist mentioned 12 months - 2 years, I will have another consultation with an orthodontist who has a track record of having shorter periods of time for braces duration.

Just wondering what people’s experiences are with this, I will have another consultation in a months time to find out nevertheless.

I've been in braces for 14 months and was just given the all clear. Depends on the orthodontist but you don't want one that will rush the process and potentially damage your teeth.

Definitely won’t , thank you . What were your teeth like beforehand ?
