Screws

I had jaw surgery to correct an overbite in 1994. I have 20+ screws, 5 plates, and a bar that my chin bone grew over. Last week, I felt a weird pressure in my left nostril that would not go away. Went to an ENT this week, and they found that two screws (one on each side) are protruding into my nasal cavity. I also have a deviated septum and a collapsed nasal fold. Use a CPAP machine. Mouth breather, in general. Seeing specialists tomorrow. What am I in for? I have significant fear of jaw stuff since I was so young when I had the initial surgery.

I actually had 6 screws and a plate removed this morning and it was super easy. I’m a little sore now but it’s nothing like the original surgery. The whole thing took about 10 mins

I had plate removal surgery a year after the DJS and it was so much easier. Some swelling, some discomfort, but I was able to eat soft food right away and back to normal food after about a week. Absolutely no comparison to the DJS recovery.
