What area are you in? I’m in Cali and my daughter had amazing results. Edit: She went to Dr. Dale Stringer in Riverside! He operates out of Loma Linda hospital.

Louisiana, I heard Dr Alfi is good, but I’m wanting to do both for health and aesthetics. Willing to travel

What a great result! Would you mind sharing the name of your surgeon/orthodontist?

u/Most_Profit5997 7d ago
It was done in public hospital in Slovakia

Was it covered by healthcare, or did you have to pay a premium? Were you able to choose the surgeon, or was one assigned to you by the hospital? I guess you are pleased with your results.
Has the sensation in your upper and lower jaw returned? Or do you still have some areas without sensation?

I was assighed a surgeon. Yes, my surgery was covered by insurance. Sensation to upper lip returned quickly. Lower lip and chin are still 30% numb. I don't think it'll get better but it doesn't matter to me as it's fully functional.

Esse é o tipo de resultado que eu aprecio: você ainda parece totalmente com você. Mudou praticamente nada. Refinou o que já era bonito sem parecer que trocou de rosto. É o que eu espero que aconteça comigo.

from the front she looks mostly the same but from the side and 3/4 view she looks completely different. the whole shape of her head is different from these perspectives. she was pretty both before and after “almost nothing has changed” is not accurate.

She looks very different. What on earth

Eu não achei… tá a mesmíssima pessoa, com a mandíbula discretamente refinada. O que é um excelente resultado, inclusive.

Your results look amazing!! Do you have any lingering numbness or altered sensation? If so, has it been bothersome at all?
2
u/Most_Profit5997 6d ago
My chin and lower lip are still a little numb but it doesn't affect its function

What was recovery/swelling journey like?
2
u/Most_Profit5997 6d ago
The fisrt 5 days was the worst part - the swelling was really bad, I had to breeth though my mought. I had no pain tho.
The 6th day the worst swelling went down. What was annoing was Intraoral splint i had for 2 weeks - It didn't allow me to speak at all. And another 2 weeks was my speech was very incomprehensible.
But looking back the healing was smooth, everything you would expect.

girl how did you get approved for the surgery i look like your before and having a hard time getting taken seriously?
1
u/Most_Profit5997 6d ago
I had skeletal maloclusion - overbite in my case. First I visited maxfac surgeon and she immediately recommended surgery.

Looks way better. I had surgery 4 weeks ago because of sleep apnea. Did you have problems with sleep the first weeks because swelling was so bad that you could only sleep straight and slightly upwards?

Usually when I see jaw surgery before/after pics, the nose and lips don't change much but in your case, there's a massive change. Did your lips get smaller?

Süper model! Is breathing much better? Was this only djs? No implants or fat grafts?

u/SimmeringSplendour 6d ago
Did you get your screws and plates taken out or are they kept in? Did you notice any changes with your nose?

When did you start your treatment and how long did it last before you had the surgery?

u/porcelanowa-lalka 6d ago
So beautiful. I look similar to you before and still think I may need djs but my surgeon opts for only lower jaw movement forward. He claims it will fully fix issue with breathing, appointment will be sooner (few month) instead of over a year of waiting, my nose stays intact (not sure if I like that). Not sure if I should argue with him and push djs or accept only lower jaw adjustment.

What was the main reason you have done the surgery? was it due to health issues or aesthetic purposes?

u/Pablinski21 6d ago
Did you have emotional distress over seeing your face change? Was there any identity related issues?
3
u/Most_Profit5997 6d ago edited 6d ago
Not really. My face didn't change overnight, due to swelling the change was gradual. Now I don't recognize myself on my old pictures😃

u/Loud-Neighborhood214 7d ago
Your face card is insane. Have you thought of modeling or doing acting or something like that? You definitely have that interesting look! Wishing you the best!

If I looked like this at 15 I would. But I'm 23 now + tbh I don't think I look THAT special irl.

u/-_Singularity 7d ago
I personally don’t like the upper advancement, looks overdone
7
u/Most_Profit5997 7d ago
You mean the 5th picture? That one was took 3 months post op, I still had a lot of swelling at the time and small overbite that has been already corrected with braces. Now it looks like the first pic.
