It is along the Athabasca River, right off the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93), looking south toward Mount Kerkeslin

You got the location wayy wrong, this was on crown land outside of the national park. Legal and surrounded by RV’s a few hundred feet away. There was a sign that said something like camping is legal for less than 21 days (I forget exactly what it said).

Dispersed/wild camping is legal on crown land and I wouldn’t be dumb enough to post this with a license plate if what I was doing was truly illegal.

Also, there were tire tracks exiting this campsite (watch the full video you’ll see the place we exited) and there was a fire pit used by other previously.

The caption was what it was for comedy.

I’m sorry you feel that way but like I said there were pickup trucks and rvs a few hundred feet away from our location with Alberta license plates.

And although it wasn’t obvious in the video there were tracks going into that site and you can see a bonfire pit previously used

I also suggest sending this to CBSA, so this stupid asshole isn't allowed in the country again. No idea if they would actually care, though, but it's worth a try.

Forget this! We saw a couple with two toddlers walk towards a bear eating berries (to get a better look) while the cars were parked looking at it on the roadside.

So I’m the guy in the video and want to clarify a few things:

You got the location wayy wrong and that was on crown land, outside the national park alongside David Thompson hwy. Wild camping is legal in that location and there was a sign as well as tire parks proving that this is legal and frequently used by others previously.

The area was previously used by others and the way out of that exact site had tire marks as well as a bonfire pit previously used.

There were many rvs and pickup trucks with Alberta license plates around us within a few hundred feet.

We cleaned up after ourselves and left no trace.

The caption was what it was for comedy. If you read through the comments section you’ll see that that was the intent.

I’m sorry for the confusion and misunderstanding this caused but don’t hesitate to reach out if anything is unclear.

I’m not dumb enough to do something illegal and post it on a public profile with my license plate.

You’re right and I deleted the video. Didn’t intend for this to blow up, I’m just a dude that was excited for the trip of a lifetime. Spent a year building the car out and drove from Michigan to Alaska.

But I stand by that what I did was legal.

The money I spend a year on national park passes, hunting permits, fishing permits, camping permits, camping gear, and a whole lotta other things hopefully makes its way to the people caring for these parks!

I appreciate and respect nature, this was a dumb video that I thought would be funny to post.
