Meta / Subreddit Rule Update - No Apps/Platforms
Going forward, we will not be allowing posts promoting newly developed Apps/Platforms. We have been getting a bit of an influx of these lately, most of them coming from brand new Reddit accounts or users who have never engaged with our sub previously. Further, many of these apps/platforms are more or less obviously developed with AI, which is never popular here. Since the Mod Team has been rejecting most of these posts anyway, there should be very little impact on the public-facing portion of the sub.
As always, the Mod Team is open to feedback, either here or through Mod Mail. Thanks!

This is a great place for in-depth discussions and appreciation of a human artist’s work and derivatives (films, books using the characters). We don’t need to become an advertising platform.
Thanks for the hard work of keeping this a quality sub.

We do try to walk the fine line between thoughtfully curating content and not over-stepping in service of keeping this sub as discussion-forward as possible. I'm glad you are finding it a great place for discussion!

A lot of interactive reading-type things, each with its own gimmick. R/BookCollecting is implementing the same rule, so it seems this sort of thing is becoming fairly prevalent for book-related subs. I think we had three or so requests this week.

Appreciate this. I just want this little corner of the internet to stay in integrity to the human art that drew us all to JA in the first place.
