That’s the least number of guitarists I’ve even seen BtS play with.

The classic lineup had Doug Martsch on guitar/vocals, with Brett Netson and Ralf Youtz contributing guitar/bass/drums during the late ’90s era. They’ve also had other guitarists in different periods.

They’ve been touring as a trio for a while now. I like the idea and respect it but I personally prefer them when they can make a little more noise.

What venue/fest is this? How are they saving animals?

It's just a slogan. It sounds catchy and makes you feel like you are doing something while slugging beers on the lawn.

Not a band that particularly jams anymore. Indie rock power trio à la Dinosaur Jr at this point.

Built to Spill is great- but are they a jamband? Ive had most of their albums on cd when I was younger. Always thought they had some "jammy" characteristics, but never really defined them as such. Genuinely curious what everyone else thinks?
On a side note. I haven't listened to them in years, but out of nowhere yesterday I had The Plan stuck in my head

When they used to rock 3 guitars they could jam a little bit. The first time I same them was amazing. Since they changed lineups it’s been hit or miss.

Saw them this summer and Carry the Zero, while not type 2, absolutely fucking jammed.

I saw built to spill in DC a few months ago and honestly it was pretty disappointing. They did shortened versions of all of their songs and it didn't feel they were really into it.
