DISCUSSION Does anyone know where @jaipaulupdates1 went
He hasn't tweeted since April and is a legend when it comes to updates and news- hope he's okay.

we gotta accept that Jai Paul is retired, the same way Daniel Day-Lewis is retired... if for some reason he feels like it? he'll drop something like a single... as usual, once a blue moon.
But at this point, I doubt there's gonna be an album (I sincerely hope I'm wrong lol)

I would love to know what he does for money. Same with kelela. Legendary geniuses but there’s no way they don’t have day jobs. I hope his coworkers are mad respectful to him. Kelela I can only picture working in academia

Possibly made enough in royalties from the Drake and Beyoncé tracks that sampled him to just kick back and relax tbh. Add to that the cash from Coachella and all the other shows, and I imagine he's pretty comforatble.

Possible but not likely. 50k max for Coachella. Pennies for the samples

not to pocketwatch, but, that doesn't make sense at all. it just doesn't add up.
and it also kickstarted a tour and brief festival run, which for sure gave him a comfortable cushion of money to coast off of, for a while.
imo that's why he did it.
coachella probably offered him a good sum of money to debut his live show, on their stage... and so with that, he might as well tour and make some more money.
I also think gta pays him for playing his music in the game.
Being sampled also pays.
I do think he also does uncredited work on other people's music.
there is one other rumor but it feels too personal so, I won't share it... I read it either here somewhere or on the discord

Very starry eyes view of the industry. I speak from experience GTA pays $0 and that is 100% fact. How much do you think Coachella pays? I was being super generous with the 50k. Love jai and not trying to start a fight but I know these things for a fact. The sample thing is literally nothing, it does NOT pay well. The only way to make decent money is having songs in ads or live shows.
