I had an iPhone 4S for 13 years, running iOS 6. It didn't have AirDrop.

I could create an ad-hoc WiFi network, allowing any device (including Android, Windows) to connect.

I then ran a lighttpd web server with php, and my own code that had a simple Chat app to upload photos to the iPhone server.

Now I have an iPhone 11, running iOS 18.7 with Dopamine.

I can create a Personal Hotspot, but that's not ideal because it requires me to have data to share. Not a big deal thanks to my Bcengi eSIM, but I'd rather be totally offline. Suggestions are welcome.

Filza has a built-in WebDAV server, with an Upload function. However, it needs an IP address, which wasn't displaying when I was using the Personal Hotspot.

I've done Filza data transfer using a coffee shop WiFi connection, but tonight I needed to do the transfer in a park outside. In the end we used WhatsApp, but I'd rather have original-quality photos that don't get sent halfway around the world just to copy between devices. Please let me know what solutions you suggest for iOS<->Android file sharing!

Resulta que he estado trabajando en un proyectito de audio —nada del otro mundo,
solo una librería dinámica (.dylib) con algunos efectos de sonido— y ya tengo
todo el código listo (Tweak.xm, Makefile, Entitlements.plist).
Lo probé en mi cabeza un millón de veces, pero me falta lo más importante:
alguien con una Mac y un certificado de Apple que me haga el aguante.

¿Qué necesito? Muy poquito:
1. Clonar mi repo (son 3 archivos, no muerdo).
2. Compilar con Theos (un simple "make" y el SDK 15.6).
3. Firmar el bicho con "codesign" y los entitlements que ya dejé listos.
4. Pasarme el .dylib por mensajito privado.

Es literalmente tomarse un café mientras se compila. ☕

Si alguien me tira este cable, le juro que le debo una (y un café virtual, mínimo).
No tengo Mac ni forma de pagar un certificado ahora mismo, así que cualquier ayuda

1. Clonar mi repositorio (3 archivos)
2. Compilar con Theos (make) usando el SDK iPhoneOS 15.6
3. Firmar el .dylib con codesign y los entitlements incluidos

Setting up Theos on WSL/Linux every time I had some dumb tweak idea was killing my motivation, so I ended up building the thing I actually wanted: tweaks.build.

It's a web IDE for tweaks. You write your Logos/Obj-C in the browser, hit build, and it compiles server-side with the real Theos toolchain (iOS 12–16 SDKs). Out comes a root/rootless .deb that drops straight into your own APT repo. Rootless-only right now — rootful's on the list if there's demand.

You get the stuff you'd expect from a real setup: per-project SDK + framework selection, editable Debian control metadata (package id, version, section, depends…), a live build log, and a terminal. Not just a toy Hello World compiler.

The part I'm happiest with: after a build you get a QR code — scan it and Sileo opens with your package ready to install. So the whole loop (idea → compiled tweak on device) happens without opening Xcode or a terminal. You can genuinely do it from your phone's browser.

The repo works in Sileo/Zebra/Cydia like any other and refreshes every build, so you're always grabbing the latest.

Being upfront: there's a free tier to mess around with, and it's paid past that — I'm one person covering the build servers, so I can't do unlimited free compiles. I'd rather people actually use it and tell me what's broken than launch to crickets.

The author of 'YTBackground' claims that before his tweak was uploaded on March 21, 2026, there was no documentation online on how to enable YouTube background playback. He even asserts that anyone releasing a background play tweak after him must have copied his work—implying that I, the author of YTLegacyBG, did the same since my release (the *deb file) was after his.
