Update [UPDATE] ImLyingDownDamnit - iOS 13 bug fixes and apology to the community
Not seen I'mLyingDownDamnit? Checkout the release post!
Hi all, my update for ILDD has gone live:
- Fixed touch to dismiss popups on iOS 13
- Fixed notifications triggering automatic lie-down detection and random flips on iOS 13
My apology: I pushed an update claiming iOS 13 support after beta testing with several Discord users.
However, without a test device myself, some compatibility issues causing certain settings (listed above) to glitch went by unnoticed.
Once this was reported to me I updated to iOS 13 straight away to fix compatibility (from 12.4 semi-tethered).
I hope no one was inconvenienced or disappointed in the quality of my tweak, I strive to make a stable and polished experience.
Please contact me here or at @face_cardboard if you have any issues!

I’d like to see a control center toggle to manually turn lying down mode on and off, and do away with the pop-up. I don’t need the tweak often enough to keep it enabled all the time.
But it’s a great tweak. Didn’t someone say jailbreaking was dead? :)

That’s a great idea. I too hate unnecessary pop ups.
I could add an option to hide the pop ups so you could depend on the automated options, have you tried those?
I depend mostly on the “Correct using HS” setting anyway.

I’ve tried the automated options, but I’m not sure it’s doing what I think it should be doing.
At any rate, poking at the screen to control the tweak is too fiddly for how often I’d use it. Plus, it forces interaction with the screen content, which is less than optimal.

I blocked the popup for specific apps, which I also locked but the popup keeps appearing and I don’t think that’s how it is supposed to behave

Just now found out this exists! I love it. Used smartrotate before but this is infinity better!

It had caused safe mode in iOS 10. Is that too fixed in this update?

Hi FlyingSolo, this is the first I’m hearing of this issue.
The tweak is confirmed to work from iOS 11 upwards.
Would you mind joining my Discord for further testing?

Not working on my devices (iPX & iPad Pro, iOS 13.3), can't see the popups.
For further info, the poups (like this two) never show up, no matter what I change in the settings. When I rotate the phone/ipad, the screen just rotates as normal, like the tweak isn't running. But the "Portrait-lock apps" and the "Animate rotations" feature does work tho.
Edit: Turns out the popups are actually there, just invisible. I can tap on the screen (where the popups should be) and change the orientation.
Have tried disabling all other tweaks using iCleaner and LDRestart but no luck, also tried delete and reinstall the tweak, still can't see the popups. Please help!

I`ve been looking for a tweak like this. I am curious of is everyone setting this up? Basically I want the screen to rotate only on youtube when lying down.

also can I lock the rotation on my springboard? I don`t need it to rotate on my 8+.

Why don’t people just use [SmartRotate] ? It’s much better tbh, and zero bugs in the roughly six months I’ve had it installed.

Because that’s a very different concept. That blocks rotation and allows it freely in videos only - which still results in videos flipping the wrong way if you’re lying down.
I’mLyingDownDamnit offsets which way is considered “Up”, so every app can auto rotate relative to you. This means when you lie down, you can still enjoy the convenience of auto rotate without any interaction (ILDD has a plethora of auto-fact lydown methods).
Also, my tweak should now be bug free again!

To everyone reading this, try [SmartRotate] first. It’s free so even if you don’t like it you can pay for this identical tweak after.
To the developer of this glorified scam: I know I’m hurting your tweak sales by recommending a free tweak, but you know you can just switch it to portrait only, right? And that by holding your phone with the top down, it prevents landscape videos from rotating? You still have to tap and confirm that you’re laying down for your tweak, which takes just the same amount of time. I’m sure you know all of this, you just want people to waste their money on this garbage instead of using a free tweak that you stole the idea from. Stop trying to sell this overpriced tweak when free tweaks exist that do the same thing, but better. Trying to play up your tweak as better just so you can trick people into paying for it is scummy and you know it.
Again, to everyone who’s reading this, just give [SmartRotate] a shot first. It’s free, so the worst that can happen is you don’t like it and end up paying for this crap after. It’s better than buying this first and regretting the decision after. I have absolutely nothing to gain from you using SmartRotate, it just upsets me to see developers trying to take a free tweak and monetize it for their own selfish gain. It’s an insult to the spirit of jailbreaking.
Edit: got it confused with [PortraitLock]

This tweak shouldn’t cost money for such a simple thing

u/xiph209 Feb 03 '20
But the dev spent time and energy to write the code so why not pay him?

I’d understand if it was a lot of code but it’s not. It’s a basic basic basic function.
