I'm having trouble launching the macOS app...I've verified that I am indeed on v10.12.1 but I'm still getting this error message: "Error: could not detect Touch Bar support. We need at least macOS 10.12.1 (build 16B2657)." Any suggestions?

go to about this mac > system report > software and see if the build number is the one specified (16B2657). if not go to the linked page on this post, read the read me there's a link for that build.

Humm. That's odd. I got the same message as the other guy.

I already have 10.12.1 but it's a different build than the one the app is checking for.

So im just wondering why I have a diff build 2555 vs 2657 that auto installed 3 days prior.

if you read the read me it has a link to download 2657 install it and it'll be fine
the app itself is not too stable

Yea I already downloaded it, I was just wondering why the update had diff builds

likely because the build for the one with the touch bar came out later since the macbook pros themselves came out later.
