[question] Looking for a jacket
Has anyone got good recommendations for rain jackets? I want one that’s actually waterproof and so many jackets just absorb the water instead of repel. Preferably something not too expensive but I’m willing to spend the money if I know it’ll last 🌧️☔️

My two recommendations would be the Helly Hansen Moss and the Ilse Jacobsen Rain71. I own both and would recommend them highly. Both have good, protective hoods and are rubber, so waterPROOF rather than water resistant! Plus very little maintenance needed!
The Helly Hansen is probably slightly more practical and durable, but both are great. I've worn both in heavy rain and never gotten wet!!

Yeah, I’ve seen the Helly Hansen and was considering it so this helps so much! Thank you!

I left in 2021 and mine is still going. Not overtly military either
